Nothing, nada, not a single brass razzoo, just a small crappy pile of dust.

I think it’s time to hit the AH and buy a whole bunch of worthless junk in the hope that the RNG smiles on me twice per boss, once on the drop and once on the roll.

But before I get into that, let me bring you up to speed on by week.

Saturday Night’s alright to Party: but leave the Death Knights at Home!

The weekend that was… pretty good when all is said an done.

Friday night was Naxx10 night, but it took a while to get the group together.

All 7 of us mates where ready and waiting, but some nights it’s so hard to find just one more.

Yer, umm here’s my weekly weekend wrap up… which is normally up on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but with playtime starting for this weekend in 3 hours, I better knock out last week’s….

I didn’t get to play on Friday night, in part because I played for a little while on Thursday, but I did get a bit of play time on Saturday.

The good part about this was that I got to do a few heroics…

The bad bit as the 9 items my mates DE’d…

I am sure a couple of those had my name on them…

Yep, it’s my 42nd birthday, as much as I might to deny it, and as much as many people look surprised to discover I am that old. (but they say you are only as old as the woman you feel… So that’s only 29).

Funnily enough I don’t feel 42, even stranger is the fact that I think I have been 42 for the last 12 months. Every time someone has asked over the last 12 months I have either said “nearly 42″ or just straight out “42″, I don’t know why…

Odin commissioned (from Mum) a crayon picture of him in blue shoes and gloves with Dad in red shoes, as well as Mum… Cooking. I think the 2nd is a worry. Maybe it’s time I learnt to cook something other than bacon. (more…)

I was caught out by Ragnarogue, sprung royally, four fingered hands hands in the chocolate achievement pot.

Yes, after swearing black, blue and green that I wouldn’t participate in NobleGarden.

After composing an “I won’t use Polymorph: Rabbit spell” macro, I snuck off Wednesday night and submitted my beautiful Gnomely body to the rabbit transformation and grovelled around under bushes hunting for eggs.

  • I blame it on Nib(uca) for introducing the Mage patch notes section to TNB (don’t worry, won’t be any Mage news this week…)
  • I blame it on Twitterfolk for talking about Cadbury chocolate eggs.
  • I blame it on my (non-WoW playing) mate from Sydney that drove to Melbourne to celebrate my birthday on my singular weekly WoW Friday night.
  • I blame it on my pathetic weak willed red haired blog writing avatar.

There are plenty of great guides out there on the blogs, much better than this one, but if you are struggling, then maybe this will help.

I will get to the strategy, but first some background rambling.

I have been playing WoW for a fair while, from before the Oceanic servers came into existence.

I play on PvE servers for a very good reason:

Weekend that was: A Dead Gnome does no Damage!

Last weekend I got to knock over Naxx25 with my guild, which was a great experience.

I started this weekend out knowing that I wasn’t up for anything as grand.  I knew that I wasn’t going to be raiding with my guild for 2 reasons.

  1. I wasn’t going to really be available till late, as I was babysitting.
  2. I really wanted to give my time to my mates instead.

When I logged on I raced over to the Argent Tournament grounds and struggled to do anything… I mean anything.  The quests may seem great to many, but all that lost flying time makes this casual raider a sad boy.  On top of that the jousting isn’t going all that well for me.

I have decided that the whole charging thing is a bit too hard when I am 0.5-1 second behind the AI, so I am doing it the hard way with shield breakers and hand-to-hand.  If I don’t get it right, the NPC opponent just laughs at me because I am taking too long. (more…)

I don’t know about you, but I have always liked the idea that I could work an 8 hour day, but if I finish my work in 6 hours, I could just go home.

Unfortunately I am not in that position in my real life… but could I be in that position in my blog life?

You see this post is post 365 366!

So I have written and posted (yeah, 365 366 doesn’t include the drafts and abandoned posts) a leap year’s worth of material in 285 days… actually, if you only consider my time in front of the PC, that’s 365 366 posts in 232 days (I was in India for a couple of months) (more…)
