It’s been a while hasn’t it… no not so much since I posted, but yes I have been enjoying my holidays, my time with Odin, my new house and…

Well, that’s what I’m trying to say, it’s been a while since Gnomeaggedon got more than a mailbox check.

Squidly’s sick of random dungeons, because doing the same instance time and again doesn’t feel all that random.  He’s also run afoul of GearScore and Achievement linking… people on Twitter got to hear me howl about that, but that can wait for another day.

Gnomeaggedon Frost Nova’d and Polymorph: Turtle’d Squidly to get a bit of play time.  Something a little bit less about you (or them) and much more about me.

See that’s the thing about healing, ultimately it’s all about them…

  • Keep the tank alive – he’ll save you but = them
  • Keep the DPS alive – they’ll turn the DPS meters red with blood = them
  • Loot drops and someone Ninja’s it = them (admittedly not as bad as Dechion’s experiences, expounded upon by the BigBearaggedon (no… not yet… but soon… sooon Mmmmwwwwhhhhhaaaahahhahaha! Make sure you read BBB’s last comment it realy sums up these fucksticks, forum trolls and bullies in general, as well as the true thoughts of higher beings like us)
  • Loot drops for Squidly that’s an upgrade & he’s called a Ninja = them (yes another holiday adventure story for another time)

Time out for me, Me, ME I TELL YOU!

After Squidly started sporting nice new Triumph clothes and couldn’t remember why he was in Wintergrasp and the other battlegrounds any more (stupid f’n you can’t queue for more than one activity!), Gnomeaggedon reared his little green head and said…

Please Sir, can I have some more.. emblems… and FUN!

Queue Wintergrasp… Queue Random… hell, just Queue!

Apparently, Gnomer had a bit of a hectic weekend, and was unable to get a “monday” post under his belt.  But never fear!  Krizzlybear is here!  I actually promised him via twitter that I would fill in for one of his posts.

Just a stipulation though.  I am unable to talk about anything frost.  That’s quite a tall order, since I am in love with the tree.

If you’re a fan of this blog, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Gnomeaggedon, Larísa, and I have a very civil, yet quite exciting rivalry going on between gnomish mages.  A battle of the specs, if you will.  And with every new patch, and every new change that comes to our class, the battle ebbs back and forth like the tides on a beach.  With patch 3.3, all three specs received some pretty awesome changes and buffs, in both PvE and PvP.  If at all, I look forward to the ensuing battle.

But let’s leave that for another day.  Gnomer was busy this weekend, and as a diplomatic frostie, I will perform an act of kindness and bail him out today by writing this post.  And what else could be more adequate to talk about than the new LFG system?

Looking For Awesome

The other day, my mage, Bashertin not only received the title of “the Patient” but also the perky pug pet (more…)

See, I Told You!

This is Odin’s (my son) favorite phrase when he does something we have warned him about, only to have it come true.

G.N.O.O.B. Rage

I expressed my frustration at Alliance EoTS groups the other day. Their practice of grabbing one tower then fighting over a flag that will give crap returns has made me frustrated and angry… Angry enough that I now wear a deserters buff rather than bang my head on my desk in frustration.

I just want to clearly show you what happens when one side grabs and controls the 4 towers & ruins (more…)

Errrgh…

awake at last

He woke suddenly from a deep, maybe unnatural slumber. He knew this place, it was the portal room in Dalaran.

asleep at the portal

A quick two fingered gesture and his mind was refreshed, his mental powers enhanced. Another simple gesture and his renewed Molten Armour flared, roasting the spiders and shriveling the cobwebs that had gathered on his body.

The last thing he remembered was porting to Dalaran as he had done hundreds of times before (more…)

What’s better…

  • 10 Regulars tackling Naxx?
  • 8 Regulars + 2 PuGs tackling Naxx?
  • 8 Regulars only tackling Naxx?

Crazy Thinking

I had this crazy idea mid-last-week, why lose 1/2 hour to 1 hour LF2M Normal Naxx, when the 8 of us could just give it a go by ourselves. Let’s face it, more often than not, 2 people go down in the 1st 15 seconds of any fight, so what’s going to be the difference…

Hey, there’s even an achievement for it, The Dedicated Few. (more…)

satisfied

It’s done Gnomeaggedon, and I think you’ll be satisfied with the results.

  • If you aren’t into streams of achievement screenshots, then you may not want to read any further.
  • If my post from yesterday about Achievement Envy rang some uncomfortable bells, likewise this isn’t the post for you.
  • If however you want to live vicariously through my many minor triumphs, then read on.

It all started on Thursday, yes some of my playtime envy has been sated, I have had some bonus time online (more…)

Achievement number gnome v. Achievement number

One of many envies, but one I have felt recently and, as is often the case with envy, for no good reason.

Achievement Envy

My recent envy attack was based on Larisa’s comment. Yes I am envious of Larisa, in more ways than one. But, this is about achievements, in the1st instance, so let’s start there.

I am an achievement addict, and I need help.

If I am honest with myself, when I read/hear about someone else picking up an achievement, I shrivel a little inside (more…)

Hey Folks,

I know I was a little negative yesterday about the Bonfire reset, but in reality that has worked out very nicely for me… it means that I have been able to clear up the Midsummer Festival in just over one day without relying on dailies…

I know I should be doing another blogday post… but that will have to wait, as I am at home looking after the young Gnome…

Anyway, when I started this midsummer jaunt, I was relying upon the great strategies of other bloggers… then at one point when I was struggling to find a bon fire, I hit WoWHead and discovered TomTom settings…  Most of them were all over the place, so I started compiling them, only to find one post with most of them…

Anyway, reproduced here for your lack of searching pleasure, the Tom Tom coordinate commands for the Mid Summer Bonfires.  Note, for a nice path to Alliance success, check out this blog post at Pookies Is Not A Bear.

Just paste each line into your chat window, or create a Macro and throw each block in (more…)

So a week ago I embarked on the long, long daily quest grind to get Exalted with the Sons of Hodir.

There was only one reason for doing so, and it had nothing to do with the reported excellent quest line, daily gold gains, or even the quiet chuckle at the innuendo that surrounds the Sons of Hodir… Thrusting Hodir’s spear… seriously…

Greater Inscription of the Storm

No, it was all about one thing, and one thing only, increasing my performance.

I am not a big fan of dailies.  I am still not exalted at Sunwell, even though every man and their 2nd Alt is.  Argent Tournament is one of those things to kill time.  The idea of doing 40 days worth of dailies, probably 1 or 2 a week, just sent shivers down my spine.  I had heard that you can “glitch” the quest line (more…)
