BigBearButt outed me to Matticus on Twitter…
Out of the closest… again.
So just for the record… yes I have a Warlock, an Affliction Warlock..
But I am wondering what rock the Bear has been hibernating under, because the rest of you you know I have had it for a long time.. some time in 2008 I started my Lock Twinking adventures with Twinking your level 19 Warlock: Part 1. Introduction. The thing is, I could never bring myself to finish the experience, so the Lock was languishing at level 17 for 4 years.
There has been a long quiet spell in our guild lately and Dara and I found ourselves playing BGs over and over again… it was starting to get stale. One of the problems with BGs is the scenery doesn’t change too often, so I decided to change the personal scenery and add the Lock to my BG stables (currently housing Mage, Shaman, Druid, and an unloved DK).
So the Lock got dragged out of storage, Dara dug up her young Shaman and we started the leveling process.
That didn’t last long… REROLL!
Not long after that we rerolled… Did I say I liked the Lock?
Now we had two alts each, A Lock and a Pally for me… A Shaman and a Rogue for Dara… leveling in tandem.
One of the advantages of leveling on one character for 5 levels, then switching to the other, is there isn’t much time to get sick of the 1st one… at the 1st sign of boredem, we just switch toons.
One of the disadvantages is it feels like we just completed that painful collection quest… oh yeah we did… on the other toons.
That Mage…
There was a moment, early on, where I found myself face to face with a Horde Mage in WSG.
So I killed a Mage!
and yes I liked it.
Stupid Mage should have iceblocked…
Lessons learned
Our “juniors” are now well into their 70′s and some things are very clear now.
- I do the killing in this party!
Somehow, Dara always managed to arrive at the scene of a fight as I dispatch the last of the 10 mobs I engaged. If she dismounts at all, it’s only to loot… but then I guess someone has too… I have already run off to the next pack of mobs either cackling quietly, or banging my shield against my head. - Melee in PvP is hard(er)
Target Dummies stand still (but I am yet to kill one).
Mobs run to the slaughter
Players run in irritating circles. - Our guild’s top rogue has taught Dara everything she knows
She always forgets poisons
Stealth is for noob-rogues
run away, run away - I prefer the Pally to the Lock
Well, when I can catch whatever it is I am trying to kill
and in comparison to my Mage… well it looks good in level 60 PvP gear…
Likes and Dislikes…
Like…
Not even my party likes…
Nobody likes…
Everyone loves…
His time is coming again.. meanwhile he is having a much needed break. He’s currently vacationing at a spa, where the specialties include long warm soaks in baths filled with the blood of the Hode and Tauren BBQ’s.
Meanwhile… I just wonder when Bear and Matticus are going to come out of the Warcraft closet… when are they going to stand up and shout
I ROLLED A GNOME AND I LIKED IT!
Gnomer and Out!
Edit: A certain Meerkat has come out of the closet and admitted he has rolled a Mage.. bet he killed a Lock and liked it!
PS: Yes I am alive. Yes I am well. Unfortunately I don’t have too many spare seconds in a day to rub together, and the few I have I spend relaxing in a pool of Horde blood. But I’m not gone, I’m even entertaining Navispam on occasions…
Hopefully some time soon I will increase my blog output to more that 1 post a quarter.

Hey I just met you.
And this is crazy.
But here’s a soulstone.
So table maybe?
Pffft.. next you will want a port
… Locks give portals… straight to hell
I want to go on record that I have never had a gnome live. Ever.
At this point, about the only way I will ever stoop so low as to roll and play a gnome is if someone sponsored me to do it for charity.
Sigh. Short jokes? Really? That’s what i got, short jokes.
All right, let’s try this another way.
When Gnomer brings the green fire, and Cynwise ice blocks, that is the day I expect Matticus to chime in with RAWR I’M A BARE.
Matt? I’m waiting!
Sounds like a challenge Bear, how unusual of you to throw down a gauntlet.
It could go two ways…
1) we learn something from those that know better.
2) we have little accidents that prove we are not meant to care for other classes and have our licenses revoked.
Woot! A post! In what, like 2 months? Well now I know who all those funny toons were. Don’t know how you could do any levelling with me yabbering in your… err… eyes.
But that was fun to meet up with you
Forgot that gnomes are short. I mean, how could I forget that. I just felt really huge. But I guess that’s the normal for me since I play a Tauren. Was nice to meet up, and I thank you for the honour of allowing me to see the real you. Well, you know what I mean.
Ha well I have a pretty good chat filter…
Do I pay attention to the friend chatting, or the Hordie gnawing on my toes…
I like my toes!
As for short gags… When you look at a Gnome consider the miracle that allows all the wonderful of the world to be compressed into one tiny body…
Yes, you have found Mr. Wonderful.
I like that your Lock is a red headed stepchild.
Ohhh they are wholly owned subsidiaries of their red headed parent.
Let’s face it there is a little Warlock, Gnome, Dwarf, shapeshifter and a whole lot of magic in all of us.
The red sheen (or green as the case may be), just gives the slightest hint of what you are about to come up against.
As I’m sure Bear will tell you… don’t ever cross a red head.
Great to see a new post Gnomer, and I hope you enjoy the Lock right through to 85 – I’ve always thought of them as corrupted Magi. Love my Warlock, and my Mage to lesser extent, I might even get the mage to 60 soon.
I’ve enjoyed it enough to get it past 70… but tbh, I think being able to switch to the pally has made it bearable.
That said, I am amazed at how well both toons handle multiple mobs.
