The 1st step is admitting you have a problem right?
Well my addiction is freefalling over Stormwind.
I could do it over the lake, probably over the canals as well, but where is the challenge in that.
Anyway, I am a Mage.
Mages have tools to deal with falling.
I could gracefully float to the ground like a feather.
I could blink myself to the ground (or a safer space as I did last night when knocked back by the fire elementals in Bastion of Twilight (yeah it was intentional… I decided I would take one for the team, but as that lava at the side of the stairs was coming up fast I hit blink to find myself back in the pack on the stairs).
I could even, as a last resort, hit Iceblock. An icicle is still a better option that minced meat.
I could, but then I would be doing the guild a disservice wouldn’t I?
At over 8gold per skydive, it’s worth me taking one, or more, for the team while skydoving.
Skydoving?
It’s past tense for Skydiving… you know, right after my spirit escapes my corpse.
Sometimes I fail.
Other times I intentionally fail.
I do wonder what the people on the ground think when a Gnome corpse appears at their feet.
No actually, I don’t… I’m to busy preparing for my next skydive.

wow Gnomer – I’m very tempted to copy this idea, perhaps even expand it into a guild-game. You could run a competition were folks have to aim for a certain pool of lava in the blasted lands from 5000 feet up.
Or they have to create a death path of toons from the mailbox to AH entry using alts.
Plain honest silly fun, thanks man.
Why should the gold spammers have all the fun?
Get the guildies up there to floor-write the guild name… couldn’t get better publicity than that right?
But yes, silly fun… after all Silly is my middle name… ohh hang on, no “Of” is my middle name… when did that change?
LOL all the way down! Just loved this and the screenies.
If you click on them you get the bigger picture… I was up too high for a little Gnome, something the little picks don’t really illustrate.
and so much more handier that we have a spirit rezer in sw now,
Oh hell yes… Imagine doing this in Orgrammir, that long run would break my spirit after the 1st jump
Interesting achievement tactic O.o
Go roll a platey and do it, will be 8x faster.
Mmmm the average plate wearer is meant to be a little mentally challenged right… Maybe I should do a superman, convince them they wont get hurt, take them up and watch them splat while I float to the ground…
Good for the guild achievement right?
If a mage falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
How many times have you face-planted? Probably would explain a lot!
If a Fire Mage falls in the forest the Elywn Fire Brigade would have the biggest bushfire on record to deal with.
I have face planted a few too many times to be called a competent Mage.
1st time I had an NPC targeted.. his feet were firmly on the ground, but then so was my face…
I, like you, love to fall in WoW. I’ve been jumping off things for as long as I can remember. My first big jump was off the Dam in Loch Modan (back when there was water in the Loch). I was questing with my buddy and my wife and I saw the fall and just went for it. They were confused; had I made a mistake?
Nope. Just wanted to go for it.
My favorite fall was from the top of the tower in Dalaran all the way to the ground in Crystalsong. It’s a beautiful, long fall.
When I was doing Loremaster, I never went around mountains, I always went to the top and slowfalled off… most of the time I overshot the mark and it probably took longer to get to my destination… but I was flying.
I also like to encourage people to jump off the Lumber Mill in AB. I have a Macro that says “You have Slow Fall, jump you wont feel a thing”
Sometimes I give them more than the macro… like Slow fall for instance…
i love the photo sequence for this – so inspiring!
i’m afraid i’m to addicted to casting my slowfall (featherfall for any other old-school D&D playas in tha hizzouse) spell.
