I guess by now many of you are in a Cataclysm frenzy.
I wish I could say the same… unfortunately, the store where I pre-purchased my copy closes at 6pm… and it wasn’t allowed to be released until 7pm.
I might have hung around a couple of hours after work to pick it up… but no point waiting outside their door all night.
Of course some shops were releasing it earlier… but my shop was following the rules.
Stupid rules.

I guess I will just download the Cataclysm client, then whack my rego code in tomorrow… Two letters away from Cataclysm …thanks for the tip Aurdon! At least that way I wont spend a couple of hours staring at a download screen.

OMG, so much sympathy. EB Games didn’t even ship my preorder until this afternoon.
Sounds like it’s a cockup on several fronts. last couple of releases it was at midnight.. thus would have been available in stores 1st thing this morning (or obviously midnight last night if you wanted to hang about).
But apparently it was pushed back to 12am US release time, or 7pm here.
@RzBg was saying he’s got a 3 day wait because Amazon cocked up (or maybe worse.. maybe he’s right).
Ahh well, it’s one way to reduce the server crashes… don’t get the stock out for people to use.

Just realised I had an email from another game shop stating they were starting sales at 9am in the morning (vs. 7pm for my shop).
Someone is lying, or cheating or something…
What are those players in the screenshot clustering around for? I’m woefully ignorant about that nook of Stormwind.
That’s the Stormwind flightmaster area, and under the “STACKS ON” is the OldWorldFlying seller.
Personally I think it sucks you can’t buy that without Cataclysm installed… but that is a lesser complaint.
Given the various hoops Australian stores have made me jump though for the previous expansions it was very easy signing up for the digital download upgrade. Having said that the first collectors editions started signing in around 5:30pm Sydney. Apparently the store date was broken.

Totally forgot to buy the thing and went for the digital download on the night of. Figured it would be all locked up with the rush but I got ot the “buy” screen and It said I’d have to wait 72 hours for the payment to clear. I was crushed. But, of course, I tried to log in right away and had access within about 5 minutes…score 1 for procrastination!
