i’m waiting for we mages (and our clothie brethren) to get out the pitchforks and torches over the REAL tragedy of this Patchyclysm… the cost of repairs being changed!

if i’m going to be paying the same amount for repairs that plate wearers pay, i’d better be dying as little as plate wearers. i think it will only be fair if we are all dying about the same, and lemme tell ya, as a clothie i die FAR more often, so it seems to me that my costs are going to jump dramatically, and that’s not right.

also, from a pure RP standpoint, it’s certainly GOT to be cheaper to sew some tears and holes in fabric than to hammer some plate back together…

I must say that my experiences in the BGs over the last few days reinforce the importance of getting into Beta and “balancing them” bloody ball breaking battles… most one sided.

Day 4 of attempting to patch… I don’t know if…. anyone will get this message…. supplies running low…. the will to keep going is fading…. Keruthers went outside….. not back yet…. I didn’t mean it when I said I might give up my Troll oath of not cannibalizing… gah

Prelimar is right, I too missed the fire mage awesomeness of 2010 and this is a much needed post to remind us all that this is a hotfix to balance things out at level 80 until we hit Cataclysm. Said hotfix, as I understand, has not been applied to the Beta builds and awesomeness will be restored once the other classes are able to catch up to our awesomeness.

After all big fiery death is great, but if the tank is unable to hold aggro we’re not going to be dolling out the fireballs for very long before we get squished.

That said I did weep only and like a girl when I read about the nerf, I not ashamed to admit it.

My non-trivial annoyance to this is not the nerf per se. Rather that Bliz continues to a very poor job of letting the beta/btr actual do some testing and help with quality assurance.

When you can have “the icestone has melted” or WG win crashes realm or DPS adjustments in the first 36 hours, then you really aren’t testing.

well, at least i get to log in long enough to see the earthquakes happening in stormwind. i even made it to the auction house from the mage quarter and completed a scan and bought some replacement gems. but then, suddenly, KER-RASH — and then after every new attempt, i’d log in long enough to see myself, and then the game would go away again. i’m hoping tonight is different!

I feel for you.

One of my best mates has spent the last couple of days praying in front of the login screen, without even the joy of the loading bar.

Fire Mages always were and will continue to be gods (if only in our own lunchboxes). It’s just that now we have been forced to inhabit our earthly avatars and walk amongst the common people (and boy do they smell!).

btw… My dog has no nose, don’t ask how he smells
