When I took Squid to ICC the 1st time, I responded to an ad in /trade and told the guy that I had 8 bosses on Gnome, but had never healed it.

I was clear about this at each fight. I was asking for heal specific advice… the rest of it is just basic mechanics, which in theory I know.

I expect everyone that is doing a different roll to be ballsy enough to admit their lack of knowledge.

I guess it just reminds me of all those years t Uni, where I read a lot of books on the same subject and the 1st 4 chapters were pretty much identical in every book, but you couldn’t skip it in case there was something important.

Let’s just skip to chapter 5, describe specific strats, then engage.

When you get the spore… run away from the group and find the Spore tank…
When you get the slime, run to the designated spot and everyone stack.

Generally pugs only have the patience for 2-3 wipes. Do you really want to waste one of those precious wipes just because Joe the tank has only ever done this fight as melee dps? Having said that time is precious. Generally at the 3 hour mark pugs lose half their brain cells.

As an example of both problems:) I talked my way into a icc10 on Horde side. 2 pvp items,a cheap- bad resto 264 boe and i am in as 5300ish (ie 5260) and no achievements. So first 8 bosses down, no problems, no wipes. People are starting to ask if we could aim for 11 or 12/12. Blood princes. Pally tank and warrior tank. Warrior tanks suck at keleseth. So its the pally tank. Pally tank? I have never done it, dps allways did it. DPS? We have never done it, the tank has allways done it. So quick explanation for pally tank. Pull and wipe. More detailed because the main problem was lack of aggro on keleseth. Pull and wipe, again reinforce you need to keep aggro on the boss. Pull and wipe. OK try no 4 with warrior tank on kelesth, wipe and to be fair its not his fault its HARD as a warrior.

Ok then use the warlock for try 5. Guess what the 3 times we had explained what to do to the Pally? The warlock never listened because he made the exact same mistakes. Nobody told me,we told the Paladin 3 times and you where here….

Finally back to Pally tank. Boss(es) die, 2.5 hours for 8 bosses. 1.5 hours for one boss and at this point people are half asleep and raid over.
