Certain Hunter’s, who shall remain nameless, (I can’t remember their names anyway) say there are no good Mage Bogs (or at least there is one good Mage blog & Me – being a Misleading Mage Blog… I’m telling you it’s ME!).
Certain Mage bloggers (like ALL of us) disagree (Well, OK, I am a Misleading Mage blog, but there are more than one good Mage Blog).
One of us is taking action to bring awareness to the great unwashed horde of Hunters, and more importantly the fledgling or expert Mages of our World of Warcraft.
No.. it is not me. I will not risk losing my Misleading title!
Sensibly this isn’t an attempt to write every Mage guide every written, this is an attempt to build a page or resources to the many excellent, but maybe obscure references to Magedom spread around the Blogsphere.
This is where you come it.
Suggest it:
His list is just off the ground, it’s currently a short, but very sweet collection of resources. I knew when I threw my eye over it, that there was much more out there – MUCH MORE!
The question is… where?
So if you:
- Know of an active Mage Blog or resource
- Know of excellent Mage posts
Drop GamerGaz a line and fill him in.
Read it:
Read, learn, practice & grow. The resource links are there for you and I to read and learn.
Every time you trot back to the “definitive list of Mage resources”, Gaz will know. Each time someone visits he will be encouraged to keep the lawns mowed, the weeds out of the garden and to plant the new blooming resources.
I think many Mage pop in and port out, never to return to resources. At some point the authors wonder why they bother and move on… don’t let Gaz get that idea.

TELL THE WORLD!
You know there are Mage Blogs.
We know there are Mage Blogs.
But apparently no one else does.
- So whack up a post on your guild forums
Go here for Mage resources
Hi I found this excellent source of Mage links to great guides and resources!
- Shout it around Dalaran.
- Interrupt your Lich King attempts
- Leave comments on Hunters Blogs
- Leave notes pinned to the Warlock Corpses.
Whatever your mode of getting the word out – use it.
Have a listen…
While you are there, have a listen to Obscurecsst, GamerGaz’s podcast. It’s in it’s early stages only 3 podcasts in the can and what GamerGaz needs is encouragement to continue on.
Is it a Mage podcast?
No, it’s a general WoW podcast.. but I’m sure if enough Mages nudged him in the right places Mages could get more of a mention
Most Importantly…
Look through your bookmarks.. what Mage guides & resources do you have stored away?
If you stumble across a great guide, then make sure GamerGaz knows.. he, like most Mages is hungry for knowledge.. so feed him!
For example, I was slightly horrified to note that he had missed 3 incredible mage guides that have only come out this week…
Misleading Mage Posts:
- Agility and Attack Power – the essentials of a mage
- Fire Mage Raid Preparation: Gnomeaggedon’s guide to one time raid invites
- Importance of Looking Good
I’m going to let him know.
But I’m also going to let him know that CriticalQQ doesn’t just have one or two Mage guides, but an entire page of them on his Critical Tab and then there is his M&M (Murder & Mayhem; the Series) tab as well. Did I forget that classic? Dear Mr. Gnomeaggedon, Sir
I know there are more and if I could drag myself away from Destructing Warlocks (apparently that’s also a spec, not just a Mage pastime.. who would have known?), I’d throw some more at him. I’ll let you do that today, while I enjoy my Arathi Basin Lock fishing weekend (ohh look.. a solo Mage at the flag…)
As we’d say here downunder
Gazza, your a bloody ripper mate!

There are random tidbits of information about mages that don’t seem to fit under any sort of misleading category. For example, how it is proper etiquette to port yourself to theramore/stonard first, and make the table there, instead of the actual instance dungeon, because tables last three times as long when made outside the portal, and even longer when at a portal destination.
and why is it that the other raid members never appreciate it?
They need to be educated!
Thanks very much for the plug, it’s hugely appreciated! I’ll get the updates inclued when I’m back home after the weekend. I’m amazed that Euripides was so prolific at prodcing guides – I had no idea at all!
I appreciate your efforts to catalog the guides.
Rip was prolific, but I think you will find their are lots of guides out there. Maybe just for one or two talents/ spells at a time though.
Mages have been more likely to receive a token “new spell icon” than a major class redesign.
Ahhh yea if being a bloody ripper is good, then yeah Gaz is one.
Yeah, a Bloody Ripper isn’t a Jack the ripper.. it’s shit hot, bloody bewdie, tops, bonza, right on cobber, he’s a fair dinkum good bloke
