The 10 steps of Illidan rehab program for wayward locks is not an easy program to survive.
Occasionally a Lock will revert to their soul stealing ways.
They have been known to fight back occasionally at the kind caring Mages (and others) delivering the rehab treatment.
- Sometimes it’s with extreme violence such as Murder a Mage campaigns…
- Sometimes it’s candy coating (Mmmm Lock Candy) their backhanded compliments.
- Once in a while we find they have smuggled a soulstone into the clinic and stashed it in their mattress.
Now while the Locks may react violently, lashing out at their carers, we at the Dalaran Rehab Clinic for Lost Souls believe that intervention is the best policy.
Experience has shown that a Lock with a soul stone does not treat death as permanent, so summary execution is often not the best way.
Restraining them for 10 seconds, giving them the chance to appreciate the Pyroblasts charging before their little piggy eyes, provides the opportunity to talk some sense into them.
So while some Locks are awarding prizes for trophy Mage kill shots, we here at the clinic are looking for examples of extreme restraint under extreme felfire.
Here is what I want…
- A screenshot of you subduing a Lock through the age old art of Polymorph (or other class CC… Bonus points for Locks subduing Locks)
Who doesn’t want a cute bunny lock with their cute felpuppy?Or
- Your 10 steps of Illidan rehab program.
The winners (yes, I know we are all winners) will receive a loot card code (yes it’s true – I am giving something away and it isn’t stolen!)
Not just one, but 2 loot cards!
The prizes:
for Best Screenshot of you turning Warlocks into Non-Combat pets, is Papa Hummel’s Old Fashioned Pet Biscuits
For best 10 step program, is The Footsteps of Illidan (Yeah, take that Locks… here’s you pin-up used to sell our 10 step program!)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Fimlys from Twisted Gnomer Nether Blogcast and Polygamerous for helping me get my hands on the prizes.. more on that later.
What & When?
So get your screenshots and/or 10 steps of Illidan programs to me via email to: gnomeaggedon AT gmail DOT com (you know you need to replace with @ & . right?) by the 18th of May.
Meanwhile, go visit Felfire Blog and post your post-polymorph screenshots there for a chance to win a scummy Lock prize.
Of course I would never suggest that your screenshot featured a Lock stomping on a Mage… But maybe a Mage standing on a pile (nay, piles) of Lock ashes…. /wink (yes, I know you won’t win that competition with a screenshot like that, but it never hurts (much) to stir a Lock!).
I will decide the winners and they will be announced on Twisted Nether Blogcast on the show on the 21st (Assuming Fim manages to tie Nibuca down and get her to talk about Lock Rehab winners.. yes, I still have Fim in my Blogroll as a Hunter Blog… rofl)
There are some things that will influence my decision (apart from beer and cash in plain brown paper bags):
- In combat (yer real combat) shots score higher than staged shots.
- Creative CC… Lock becomes a swimming piggy – good work!
- Piles of Locks CC’d or as corpses – only if required people… if they wont stay down, I wont blame you
- Did I mention beer & cash in brown paper bags?
Who?
This competition is open to any class, especially Hunters (Sorry Brigwyn, I should have heeded your warning and stood side by side with the Hunters. I guess they figure you are out of the way and it’s now open season on Mages… Of course if there is one class that understands Open Season, it’s Hunters!)
How?
If you aren’t a big screenshot taker, here are the steps…
- Alt-Z to hide your interface (do some more adjustments to your shot now if you have the time.. ie. positioning)
- Print Screen Button (by itself, no modifiers)
- <Screen Captured> will appear briefly on the screen.
- Alt-Z back to normal interface.
You can only enter actions/statements/emotes etc via keybind while you have Alt-Z present.. so if you want to do any actions while in Alt-Z, then make sure they are on your toolbar and usable via single key press.
If you just want to say something, you can do it all quickly
/s whatever
Alt-Z
Print Screen
Alt-Z
This is only an issue if you want to perform multiple actions at once (or need to repeat them with out the extra Alt-Zs). ie. It will often take me 5-10 attempts to get one Fireballing screenshot… instant casts are usually worse.. mixtures of emotes & text, while positioned correctly… go a short macro.
That probably all seems a bit complicated… worst case any shot will do, even with the interface showing.
Last bit is finding the screenshots.
They should be somewhere like:
C:\World of Warcraft\Screenshots
Gnomer and Owww Owww Owww, get that Lock off me!
PS: Speaking of creative polymorphs… I sheeped a Mage that was attacking Lumber Mill in AB the other night… Just as he slow falled off the cliff.
Instead of plummeting like the fat little piggy he was, or even continuing slowfall as a pig. He just sat there, mid air, hovering until my teammates blasted him out of the sky. I guess this is just further evidence that pigs do fly!

Awesome Gnomey for sticking up for the Mages!
I’m just trying to save a few lost souls… honest
Just a little help with screenshot. For those comfortable with addons.

allows you to set up a single button to hide your UI (except for select portions, such as name, guild, location), take a screenshot and restore your UI.
Nice one… Of course to be fair we should tell the Locks too right?
Naaaahhh!
Great idea!
I will keep my eyes open for Locks in my travels this week. My main is a Shaman, so expect pictures of locks in frog form. Maybe if you kiss a lock while it’s a frog, it becomes a mage?
lol yeah…
“Frog Lock kissed… becomes Mage Prince”
If you can grab the frogs legs, I’m sure Prelimar can cook us up something sweet.
huzzah! the arcane/fel war is on! i knew you wouldn’t let us down. i wish you had announced this yesterday, because i actually took a ‘lock down last night in wintergrasp (i’m sure my “HA! TAKE THAT!” was heard all the way to australia. big love to and , yo!)
i was thinking about taking a screenshot, but due to wintergrasp being so, exciting for mages running out in the field, i didn’t bother. but now, i am definitely going to try.
oh, boo — my part about “big love to [spellsteal] and [living bomb], yo!” was removed. sorry….
Plenty of opportunities to get Locks into rehab… They are like rats…
Ever noticed how Locks and their pets scurry about like rats?
Felhunter says Polymorph tastes delicious; almost as delicious as mage tears…
Cute Felpuppies!
I LOVE felpuppies.
They are like remote detonation devices… Load up the living bombs, felpuppy auto-consumes… Fireworks!
Rinse & Repeat (assuming there are any targets left…)
