Alright.
I have had enough!
The Gnome has been fun, but it’s time to get serious.
The reality is that Gnomes and their players are a scorned bunch.
The other reality is that Alliance suck at PvP. Sure they might win 60% of Alterac Valleys, but put them somewhere they can’t Zerg to a PvE encounter in under 3 minutes and they become a bunch of pissy humans.
I came to the realization today. When I think about respected Mages (no not Mage bloggers per se, some of my favorite bloggers are Gnomes…) ingame at least, Gnomes don’t enter the picture.
Actually last night while I was polishing of my artwork on the SotA post (yeah didn’t take long), I discovered a Faxmonkey video, I think it’s reasonably recent, it’s certainly from WoLK.
Do you know who Faxmonkey is?
He is the star – and I mean star – of a series of videos called Stupid Mage Tricks.
This guy makes my eyes bleed at the difference between his skill and mine.
While I was watching the video, the difference between him and I dawned on me. Sure he is primarily Frost, but he uses enough fire to invalidate much of that difference.
The big difference (yer pun intended) is:
I am a Gnome…
He is a Troll!
And we all know…
Troll Racials are Overpowered!
The more I thought about it, the more it occurred to me that I didn’t want to be a squeaky voiced half pint any more.
I want to be a doobee smoking, regae loving, swaying in the breeze TROLL!
So it’s done!
Gnomeaggedon is Gno more.
Trollaggedon is rocking the house!
I tell you, 5 minutes after the transfer I could feel the difference.
I rocked AB – Yes rocked!
I was dancing on the corpses of my ex-allies, cheering as only a Troll can cheer and swaying in the breeze while I observed the destruction below from my lumber mill vantage point.

I couldn’t help it, I respec’d frost as well (you noticed my new tag line?)
Trollaggedon’s Coming!
It’s the end of the world as you know it – brought to you by the coolest frostbolt wielding troll you will ever have the pleasure to die to!
In fact 12 months ago today I joked about how Frost Raiding was getting buffed to #1 raid spec and Fire to #1 PvP spec. Damn me if I wasn’t right and all it took was a Troll to bring the Frosty out of me.
Sure the joke was on me then, but I reckon the jokes on you now!
I can’t believe I stuck with this stupid Gnome for so long.
If it wasn’t for a quirk of fate, the subject of this blog would have always been my first Troll Mage.
That said, it wouldn’t have been Trollaggedon… and I don’t think anything could be quite as cool as that.
So I will leave you with Faxmonkey’s Mage Tip #1.
