Hey guess what, this ISN’T THE POST I INTENDED TO WRITE AND DELIVER FROM THE WORDPRESS IPHONE APP!
Come on folks, you know that people use this application to get their personal and precious thoughts down while on the run.
I’m sure you know how much it hurts to write an essay only to have the dog eat it, get a Windows blue screen of death or have the wordpress app crap out AGAIN and lose your post.
Seriously, I don’t know what the problem is, but it has been around from the beginning and every time I download the new version (I got 2.2 last night) I pray that you have fixed the one thing that matters.
Reading comments is great, replying to them is even better…
but what I want the app for is to WRITE POSTS!
That’s not too much to ask of a blogwriting application, is it?
My iPhone needs a new case every week as it cops the brunt of my frustration with this application.
It’s just NOT ROBUST!
It’s not like I am trying to do anything special with it, just put words down to upload to the blog.
Seriously.
- It crashes.
- It doesn’t save your work.
- It offers to recover lost posts – it lies!
Why does it NEED Internet connection?If I want to read my comments, or upload my posts, let me request it.
Why do I have to wait 30 odd seconds every time I open the app for it to tell me I have no new comments or posts.
I already know this – I want to write!
I’m guessing that it’s the flakey 3G network that causes the problems. Here I am writing a local draft (ie: working off line) and the iPhone loses connection and the app has a little hissy fit.

No, not the bit I already saved manually because I can’t trust you to hang together for 5 minutes, the bit I lost when you crashed!
I can see it on the screen – it’s there to recover…
BUT, when I save the post (god help me if I trust you and keep writing) I have nothing remaining of the recovered post except what I manually saved.
- No extras pre-crash
- No extras post-crash
It shits me no end. I need the app (or something like it) to prepare my drafts away from the PC… But this is really putting me off blogging!
Ohhh and that’s a pretty new bug with 2.2. Save one post, get that posts text for ALL of your posts! (or at least not know what text goes with each post)

Have you tried your Pyroblast on it? It helps to use PoM so that it doesn’t know what’s coming!
Seriously that sucks man, I do everything on my PC just for that reason, I have access to it all the time though. I can see where your frustration comes in while you are out and about and a thought pops in your head.
I wish I knew of an app that would work better for ya.
For now I suggest, consume more alcohol and hope you don’t kill the brain cell that is holding onto the thought that WP App V2.2 just ate.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the app.
We’ve seen occasional bugs when someone is on a weak network signal, but nothing as dramatic as what you’ve described.
We’ll be following up with you shortly for more details to see if we can replicate the bugs and squash them.
