I dunno, but I think a healy/tank combo would be darned near impossible to stop in WSG if anyone bothered to try it.

(or heck a solo, geared tree is damned near unstoppable all by it’s self)

Then I read things in trade like “are tanks any good for BGs” and I read “only for Alterac Valley” and I have to cringe.

The few times I run Bs, I play my Retribution spec, but equip my tank gear. A retpal turtled inside defense and stamina specced gear takes a while to die… I just wish I could have divine protection AND carry the flag

Ohh yeah. I often find I become bait. It doesn’t take long for the Horde to realize I am pumping out heals, and we all know to:

“Take out the healer 1st”

This sometimes works in our favor when I’m healing the FC. As long as I can squeeze out one last Earth Shield and Riptide I can be reasonably confident our FC will make it to the flag room.

Why… Because I am a more attractive target… Silly silly Horde, I don’t have the flag, the guy that is about to cap does…

Of course when I die, I Rez right near our FC (assuming he hasn’t capped already), so I just got “ported” up the field to meet the FC and keep him up.

As a Holy Pally I am a fairly fail flag carrier, I am just too easy too take down, heck in one of the games yesterday I got soloed by a destro warlock during their stun duration. cleanse ,cleanse, stun and 27k hp gone:( But if I am healing a flag carrier if its 2-3 people on him and ignoring me I can keep him up. If 2-3 go for me and ignore him then hopefuly I can last 10 seconds before I die and he gets away in the meantime.

healers often make the best flag carriers cause you can run and heal yourselves earth shield on yourself, earthbind totems to leave your pursuers in a dust, riptide on every CD, Run Lola Run!

whenever my hubby and I do WSG, he’s usually a flag carrier with me on my hunter coming along as a support. him being a resto druid, he has a…. slight advantage over a resto shaman though (man, trees are annoying when you fight against them ) and all it takes is 2, maybe 3 people communicating and working together and while the rest of the lemmings are distracting the opposite faction? swooop!

Naah I’m not that shy (I’ve played a one-shotted mage).. but when someone had 3x the health you have to wonder why they are leaving it to a healer to run the flag

I very reluctantly take the flag in WSG. The last time I held it with the help of a druid for ages in our room waiting for our team to kill their flag carrier. Turns out I missed the very narrow window of opportunity (hey, it’s hard to read /bg chat when you’re under attack!) and eventually lost the flag and they capped.

I need more time before I pick it up again. Recovery time.
