Of course you play your main…
Stupid question #327 from Gnomeaggedon.
OK, let me rephrase that question…
Do you play your original main?
I don’t.
My original main was a Tauren Hunter on a server far, far away.
However two of my mates do play their original mains.
Mr. Z! And Mr. H! Are still playing their skanky female human rogue and paladins that they rolled back on day one of Vanilla WoW.
For a while there they were forced to play Horde “alts” to max level when we rolled on Horde factions.
However when we journeyed to Aman’Thul and rerolled Alliance just before TBC, they transferred their original mains with them.
Did you marry your first love?
Through rez sickness and nerfs
To raid and to grind
Til account suspension do you part
It just made me wonder in these days of server transfers and soon to come faction changes, how many of us have stayed loyal to our first love.
I don’t know if Snowdabow will ever regain his talents. I don’t know if I will ever transfer or faction change him. He is gathering virtual dust on Dalaran and will probably stay there.
Gnomeaggedon is my main now, but I still think fondly of Snow and his scruffy yet loyal mates Atlas.
I wonder whether the time will come where Gnomeaggedon ports for the last time. Where Squidly is the character always highlighted on the character selection screen when I log in.
Will I be consumed by the Worgen, traded for a Goblin?
Gnomer and Out!

My first main was a Nelf Warrior, Tylyndra. I don’t play her much, as she wasn’t 60 long before I decided that being a tank was NOT for me. I abandoned her in favor of a Gnome Mage and never looked back. Now, I log on to her from time to time, for old time’s sake, and run her around to a quest or two. She’s now level 67 (I think) and I don’t seem to have the will to push her forward one more level (half a level, actually) so she can go to Northrend. She’s just not my thing.
Then there was Mae, for whom I left Tylyndra, and I don’t play her anymore either.
Now, I just play Majeste, my shadow priest. I love her and don’t see myself changing any time soon… though I am having a killer good time with my baby pally!!
No I don’t play my main at all really. I play and alt mostly, my ORIGINAL character moderately, but I haven’t even logged onto my “main” server in over two months.
Not really. My shaman was my main even into BC, but then my paladin took over. I wanted epic loot, so I kept tanking and never looked back.
My first character was a human mage on Skywall. Long deleted, I still have a screenshot of her in Westfall. Ahh she probably could have been the one. *pines about the one who got away*
My original main is now herb farmer/alchemist. I got bored of hunter after TBC.
My first character was a troll rogue named Akaani, but she was never my main. I rolled her on a trial account because I couldn’t access blood elves. When I subscribed for real, I rolled a blood elf mage (score!!) named Selmarris.
I do still have them both, but I don’t play either of them. I recently tried making a comeback with Selma, I transferred her to a different server and levelled her maybe five more levels from where she was… but… meh. I’m Rhii’s now – she didn’t like me playing around with other mages.
I’m still playing my first ever char. What can I say… I <3 my druid! I did change her name though as soon as it was possible to do that…
Yep! Human rogue ftw! She doesn’t get as much play as my shadow priest does these days but I still <3 her and play her as much as possible. But there's more demand for my priest (can you heals H:blahblah for us pleaseeeeee, damn you dual specs!), than the rogue.
But I will always call my rogue my main, even if she is becoming my fishing alt.
I came back to my main with WotLK. I originally started my paladin on day one and played him through most of Vanilla WoW, raiding up to BWL. I then got sick of healing as I always wanted to play my Paladin as ret, but it wasn’t viable at that time.
So I leveled up my rogue and got him to 60 a bit before TBC came out, and then when it came out I chose him as my new main cause I had a lot more fun playing him than my pally. I got him up to early T5 content before leaving the game for a while.
But when I came back recently and saw the overhaul than Paladin have had, I just couldn’t resist going back to my first love.
I’m still playing my main. Sprink the fire mage was, has been, and probably always will be my main character… and a fire mage. Even with my newly christened farmbot DK and my love affair with both a paladin tank and a hunter, Sprink is… Sprink. ^_^
It’s a good question. I’ve got a 67 Warrior in WoW just gathering dust and he’s definitely what I’d consider to be my “main”. I’m at the stage though where I’m really looking to get a new one.
Ah Thistlefizz, you have been, and always will be my one true love, er, main. Occasionally I may stray to my Horde shaman, but that’s mainly to escape the stresses of the guild. My trusty gnome tank will always be the one for me!
My original main was an Undead Mage but I grew extremely bored of the class in vanilla WoW around level 40, deleted it and rolled a Warrior and Warlock.
TL;DR – Nope.
My very first character is totally gone – deleted – never made it far. My first “main” is also gone – deleted- never made it past 46.
Syrana has been my main for almost 2 years… and should continue to be so.
Although, sometimes, you think you have it all figured out … then a new “matching” seems so perfect. I mean, worgen lock – yum. But trying to find a server where Syrana is an available name? Very difficult to do. (and only 1 of those Syrana’s is me D: )
My original main was indeed my mage. ^^ I’ve spent too much time with that character to let it fall by the wayside, hehe.
I have made far more characters than I can remember. Barely any of them made it past level ten.
But the first one that I could call a main was probably Wooster the Gnome Warlock. I managed to get that one to level 30 before I quit WoW for a couple of months. But when I finally came back to WoW I was having trouble getting motivated to continue with Wooster so I decided to re-roll as Angoril the Blood Elf Fire Mage. I have stuck with Angoril ever since and am now almost to level 73. Though I think once I reach level 80 after I try out some of the end game stuff I might create something else. I was thinking of a Warrior.
