This is one of those nasty chain letters that started over at Rick’s place with Positively Wonderful headed over to Larisa’s place with Positively Wonderful and will probably come to a screaming halt right here unless one of my runner up’s takes up the challenge, or my Positively Wonderful blogger changes her tune and returns to the blogsphere.
Rules
Link one blog that has had a positive influence on your life, blogging or game. Write what the positive effect was and hope it gets passed on.
The lovely Larisa had these awesome things to say about me
But expected or not, this needs to be said: Gnomeaggedon, you are by far the most persistent, loving, cheerful and caring supporter I have in the Blogosphere. From the first day you made your blog you gave the PPI a special “recommended link” spot. You constantly link to me whenever you can. In September you even wrote a special tribute post, highlighting some of my older posts, just to make sure that new readers didn’t miss them. You silly old gnome! I don’t really know what strange spell you’re under, but to be honest, if it wasn’t for all the love you’ve gave me during the passed year, I’m not sure I’d still be blogging.
And apart from that you’re running a wonderful blog of your own. You show me and everyone else that it’s perfectly doable to have tons of fun in the game even if real life and time restrictions prevent you from raiding. It’s all up us how we choose to see the game – as a boring grind or as a wonderful, sparkling adventure. You manage to find the adventure and a humoristic perspective in places where no one else bothered to look. Your blog sparkles more than any quest item in Azeroth.
You are Positively Wonderful!
I wish more people would say this to me… I really do, but I don’t know if I am deserving of it… still I was always told not to rebuff a compliment, so I am going to take it and add it to my list of blogging achievements.
My Problem
I am stuck with a minor problem… what if the giver of this Achievement is the one that probably deserves it most? It’s not like I can bounce it back to Larisa… well without getting it bounced back to me.. and that would become a bit tiresome.. right?
So then then, the next problem is whittling it down to just one. I didn’t start blogging due to just one blog, I don’t think any one blog has had an overwhelming influence on me (although if you believe otherwise, stick your hand up and grab a tag.. it’s free, on the house). I tend to suck ideas and tips from such a wide range of blogs.. in reality Mage blogs are probably the smallest section of my feedreader.. and while theorycraft is handy, it’s often the broader topics that grab my interest, make me wonder why and how I play the game.
- If it was just about starting blogging, then Matticus would get this award. I read though his many “starting a blog” posts before actually logging into WordPress.
- If it was about design and quality of posts, then the award would go to SpicyTunas (Did you read his Honest Scrap post?)
- If it was about Mage Theorycraft… well I would be stuck then, I might as well just post my Mage Blogroll, as they have all influenced me at some point in time.
- If it was about building the Mage blogging community, then my favorite memories in the sense were the Mage war, initially fought by Larisa (see she comes up too often on my Blog) and Zupa (and I know how much he loves a Meme… he’s too busy watching the WoLK installer right now though (see this draft was OLD!)), later with many of the other Mage bloggers throwing the odd Arcane Blast, Frostbolt and even the occasional Pyroblast.
I can go on, and on, and on… Seriously, take a look at my blogroll and you will see all the people that have had a positive influence on my blogging, game and once in a blue moon, life.
Damn it, this is too hard…
OK, who is it that consistently brings a nutty smile to my face, that proves that a Blog doesn’t have to always be serious. That is prepared to rant, rave, theorycraft and hang it on her fellow WoW players, bloggers and the world as a whole?
Yoooo Hooo… Megan…
… Megan…
… Megan!…
…Damn…
OK, now I am really sorry that I let this sit in my draft basket for so long. I doubt it would have changed her mind about chucking in the blogging towel… but I would have liked to know that she at least read the post. Right now I don’t know whether she just turned the PC off, or has been sucked into one of the many layers of hell from which Warlock minions spawn.
It’s true what they say about not knowing what you have got until it’s gone. I have been mopping about for 3 days now, in despair, almost prepared to throw in the towel myself. Now when BRK hung up his WoW Blogging boots, I knew it was for a good reason. I considered it myself, but decided I would continue.
But with Braid’s departure, I just don’t know why, but I just feel like locking down the blog, and leaving some cryptic message.
It wont happen that way, in part because Megan has inspired me to be as /silly as a Gnome can be… and I haven’t plumbed the depths of stupidity yet.. close maybe, but not yet.

My one little ray of sunshine is that my feedreader still holds the Out Of Mana posts… I have been rereading them, trying to extract a bit of the essence of Megan, of Braids, of Out of Mana.
I don’t know, to me she was like that girl you see every day, the one you are too scared to talk to, the one you think doesn’t even know you exist. Except that occasionally she does acknowledge you, will make sure you are enjoying the party, will stick up for you against the cool kids… you know, the cool kid that sticks up for the nerd against the other cool kids, yet doesn’t loose face.
Megan, You are (still) Positively Wonderful!
Please dear readers, if you feel like taking up the baton of the Positively Wonderful post, please do, let’s make sure that this nasty chain letter continues on.
Gnomer and Out!

Nice one Gnomey.
This may not be the best place to discuss the influence you have had on me, that deserves a post of it’s own on my blog.
However, I think you should know that you are all of those things Larisa said about you and more.
Thx for being so you!
Oh, I had forgotten about this one. I’m glad you didn’t. It’s so delightfully written in a way that only you can do. That’s why you deserved this reward so much.
/hugs!
