Another one of those, “I did this, I got that posts”, but my screenshot trigger finger is itchy, and I will be buggered if I aren’t going to torture you with my “holiday slideshow”.

So pull up a pew, prop your head at just the right angle to convince me you are still awake, and let those “sleep nods” acknowledge your appreciation for my awesomeness!

I know it’s a small thing, but I just love the way people are knocking up campfires around Dalaran while doing their cooking dailies… it makes it so much more convenient than heading back to the inn to cook up the latest dish before doing the delivery boy thing.
Latest in the range of Mage disguises is the Cute Dead Chick disguise. (more…)

Flying the old cities

Continuing on my discussion of mounts and the old world, I have realized that there is something recently experienced that I am missing in the Old World.

While we e could fly about Outlands, but (with a couple of exceptions) you weren’t flying around old world style cities. The were Outland Space-Goat cities.

Now I am flying around Northrend I am loving flying in, out, and around the Alliance castles (especially in & out of the castles).

When I was hoofing it through Iron Forge the other day, it just felt empty. I had to think what was missing. Then I realized the skies were empty.

It was all 2 dimensional.

I just wish that the caverns of Iron Forge were filled with flyers, the skies over Stormwind filled with birds, the Maze of Undercity filled with bats.

I know it probably won’t happen, but I hope one day that the streets AND the skies of the old world cities will be filled with the cries of mounts.

Gnomer and Out!

PS: Guess who rolled a Death Knight on Aman’Thul last night?

I actually got to play with him for the first time… and it wasn’t at opposing ends of the battleground (not that we ever did get to do that!).  Mind you, he suffered a similar fate to me when the error prone Lich King raised “him” from the dead.

Why do you WoW?

Ask not what can do for wow, but what wow can do for you.

I think there is a problem with the questions we ask ourselves sometimes. I mean the are leading. Leading us to give a carefully rationalized answer to why we do things.

Now before I get really started, I want to point out I started this post before BRK’s announcement, however his reasons reinforced this concept, so I will plow on with the post.

Why I play!
Generally when asked why we play, our response is a clear cut response. (more…)

Any comment is a good comment?

TyphoonAndrew had a post the other day about comments.

Basically he doesn’t want stupid comments. If you don’t have anything useful to say, then put the keyboard away.

If you want to read the short version of this post, just check out his comments.

So this post is primarily directed at Bloggers, but I am interested in the views of non-Blogging readers as well.

I have this problem.

When I read a great blog post (or even guide), and I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to add to the discussion, I never know whether to comment.

I’ve been thinking, maybe I should play more and think less, but I can’t so you are forced to delete my posts from your feedreader instead.

So, I am wondering why Blizzard doesn’t introduce scalability into the game. Sure in some cases this my mean a bit of balancing, but in these days of phasing, I wonder if it isn’t more possible than ever.

There are 3 areas (which pretty much covers everything). Mobs, Quests and Instances. (more…)

Zupa asked if things are as bad as they sound (or I write anyway). InspiredOgre had a bit of a dig at me about my QQ.

I even suggested that I was Q’ing to the power of Q, or as Rip would say, Qubed!

So I will turn it over to the people.

How you you rate WoLK?

On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 being QQ and 5 being FTW!)

Have I raised the dead? Zupa!

It would appear that the incoming Mage Healing Tree (cough… cough…) has some sort of Resurrection powers as well.

I guess it only makes sense that as we are in the era of the Lich King.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Gnomeaggedon, what are you on about?

In an afternoon seance, it would appear I have raised the spirit of…

He has spoken from the grave (which admittedly is the place he calls home) (more…)

So as I mentioned I got Cold Weather Flaying the other day, but I was a bit disappointed.

You see, I dressed up in my shortest skirt, threw a box of chocolates, bottle of wine and a 1,000 gold on the back seat of the instructor’s drake and I had received my license before I even left the ground.

Not sure if you have heard stories along these lines about people in the real world getting their licenses, but I think it’s cheating and I felt cheated receiving my Cold Weather Flying license so easily. (more…)
