365!

I don’t know about you, but I have always liked the idea that I could work an 8 hour day, but if I finish my work in 6 hours, I could just go home.
Unfortunately I am not in that position in my real life… but could I be in that position in my blog life?
You see this post is post 365 366!
So I have written and posted (yeah, 365 366 doesn’t include the drafts and abandoned posts) a leap year’s worth of material in 285 days… actually, if you only consider my time in front of the PC, that’s 365 366 posts in 232 days (I was in India for a couple of months)
Top 10
Top 10 out of posts in the last 365… F’n Warlocks
100,000

Ohhh, did I mention that I have hit 100,000 page views as well?
Yeah, it’s all come about the same time.
- About 40,000 of those hits were for the Lock Twink guide.
- Over 5,000 are spam hits.
- I got 33,219 page views in March alone, with my biggest day being 8,377 — Monday, March 9, 2009 (Thanks WoWInsider!)
- I have 1,434 approved comments (only 28% of comments, if we add spam)
- Since the 3 WoWInsider links, my daily figures average around 600 (they were around 300)
Referrers
OK, I am going to list my top 10 referrers, but there is something I want to highlight. Recently there has been a change in my daily referrer list. It used to be that I could guess who would be the top referrers, and they would be top by a long margin. For the last couple of weeks, I find my total page views going up, but not necessarily from a couple of referrers. When I drill down into the stats, I find that I am getting hits from all over the place… primarily from other people’s blogs.
So thank you to everyone that either links to me, or has me in their blogroll or has a TNB Link Sharing “Ad” rotator.
Actually, I consider it a mark of success that I now find my posts being reused on other blogs… those other blogs we don’t talk about…

Tip for new Bloggers
Tip 1. Page views mean diddly squat… but when the blog is new, you will probably watch them like a hawk and get quite disappointed when your best ever post doesn’t even get a hit. Most important thing to remember is that page hits mean diddly squat!
Tip 2. If you really want people to come read your blog, then make sure you go read other blogs, and make sure you leave a comment! Not just any comment, but a good, insightful comment is best to attract viewers. Worst case, any comment. Remember how much bloggers love comments:
Tip 3. Post a guide and make sure that the title is good enough to grab attention in search engines. Remember to search for yourself, to prime the search engine… But yeah, a good guide will bring in the hits, probably not long term readers, but at least your page view stat itch will be scratched.
Tip 4. Get yourself a TNB Link Sharing “Ad” rotator
Time for a holiday
Take a break every now and then… give yourself a weekend off… Just because I have posted so many, doesn’t mean that there weren’t gaps… I mean 2 months is a bit of a gap! (Scheduled posts FTW!)
Speaking of taking a break… it’s Easter, and Armageddon’s Coming will be a post free zone!
Have a happy Easter, or a good weekend if you aren’t Easter inclined.

Quite a feat if I must say. Grats on the blog and the success you’ve had with it. All your posts are truly entertaining/informative/awesome etc.
A HUGE congrats to you!
Lots of great milestones both in game and on blog.
Have a happy holiday and we’ll read ya next week!
It’s nice and things come together like that.
Grats!
Congratulations! What a fun post too! (btw, this is Mama Druid) =)
@Joey: Thanks, glad you find them entertaining… WoWRelief is shaping up very nicely. You are scoring some great guest interviews.
@Syrana: Told you I had some big news… thanks for hitting the blog so I could reach the 100k mark 2 hours early… I was just itching to release this one. As threatened on Twitter.. I will have something (a little stomach churning) just for you next week (assuming my ingame WoW theory works…)
@megan: Yeah.. crazy isn’t it… the ingame achievement was sort of expected, but for the blog stars to align at the same moment is creepy.
@Annhala: Thanks & Thanks… You were one of my Spring/Autumn cleaning victims yesterday… has MamaDruid’s blog gone into hibernation?
gratz gratz and more gratz!
you’re quite the successful little fella today
wd
Congrats! That’s a lot of blog writing
Nope, no hibernating for the Mama Druid. She’s gone extinct, but I do still play.
Phew! Well done you!
Epic grats man!
And it’s true what they say about orc women. Though it’s true of the orc men, as well.
Grats about… everything! You beat me in every aspect – more visitors, many more posts (I just hit 300 the other day) and much more modern with all those fancy things as TN ads, not to speak of your Twittering network….
Hm… The competative part of me is mutterling a little… At least I hit 80 before you… (your trip to India helped a little, I admit)
Anyway: great to hear everything is going so well. Hope you’re enjoying Easter and will come back to give us a ton of new funny and nice posts!
@zupa: Today? Every day is a successful day… as you will read tomorrow…
@Spinks: Thanks… yeah developing cramps.. in all sorts of places
@annhala: Phew! Didn’t exterminate any endangered bears… It’s great to see you are still in the loop!
@Softi: thank you, thank you…
@Euripedes: Thanks for the epics! Orcs…. they’re all the same…
@Larísa: Dear Larisa… the only thing I have beaten you in is numbers (well apart from the 80… and it looks like you are at 160!) But there is one thing that you can be assured of (apart from us linking each other) is that your posts will always be quality, whereas mine will always be quantity… with a bit of quality thrown in once and a while.
Gratz on 80 and all the blogly things as well!
I was particularly excited to see we’re in your top referrers…
I like it when my favorite blogs get read!
[...] So I hit 80 the other day… you may have read that far… [...]
Woo! Congrats on 80!
@Rhii: thanks on both counts.
Ohh yes, definitely one of my top referrers, but then generally if a Mage stumbles across one Mage blog, they will follow all the Mage links… which is why I try to keep mine up to date with all the latest.. love feeding our community, even if the food is just conjured from the nether…
@velinath: TY TY!
