Hey there, great news i guess- will you be using it?
more importantly- do you think authenticator codes are the new future in passwords?
I downloaded, installed and used it as soon as I knew it was available. Part curiosity, Part $ saving and Part security.
I wasn’t sure whether it would work in OZ, but Oceanic are US servers, so that was fine.
I was keen to save the $ on an authenticator, so a free iPhone app sounded great.
Of course I also wanted WoW to be a bit more secure.
The new future… think they are a bit old future, but haven’t really taken off yet.
I think the problem is most likely expense for those site (all sites?) that should be using it.
I would love it if there was a central registry somewhere, that you could
) authenticator with, then
1) Register your (iPhone
2) assign all your logins to that.
I have been using an authenticator with work for years.. so now I have 2.. if there were more apps that used it, it would become authenticator x apps… that isn’t sensible…
Preferably, 1 authentication site, with “Single login”, so once authenticated, all logins from that PC (for that session) are synced.
Still, an extra layer of protection never hurts
