I remember Bre saying in a past Twisted Nether Blogcast that you should really do yourself a favor and take a turtle ride from the Borean Tundra. Larisa recently reinforced this.
So, I decided I would take the trip.
Now, what’s that old saying….
Curiosity killed the Gnome!
Well, I didn’t die, but I got a completely different turtle ride than the one I was expecting.
It started out innocently enough… but I just wasn’t close enough to the Turtle, I really wanted to look in it’s eyes as it traversed the frozen wastes.
Yep, one step too many, and rather than sharing the ride with the captain, I was sharing the ride with the fish.
Strangely I didn’t need my deep dive helmet
I guess I was just sharing the turtles air…
Unbelieveably, I made it to the other end in one piece, at which point the turtle gave a big shrug…
So all in all it was an unforgetable ride… but I don’t think in the same way that Bre and Larisa intended.
Gnomer and Out!

Not the ride I got, either! Yours was much more scenic and exciting. Mine was… well. Regular. And dry.
You’re Costau the second! Amazing. I definitely got to do this ride again in a more exploring manner!
Hehe… I rode my first turtle the other day too =P
I can assure you that the underwater journey is not all that scenic… the occasional school of fish, iceberg and there you are, at your destination.
Luckily I didn’t end up in an undersea battle…
Looking forward to doing the ride in the traditional manner, to enjoy the real scenery…
Just wish you didn’t have to wait so f’n long for the turtle to arrive… Can’t they turbo charge it or something?
The turtle does seem to take forever to arrive if you are just standing waiting, but if you do some fishing, the turtle appears long before your Lure has run out.
