I find it sad the number of people that just rush through content or skip content and just grind... they are missing sooo much of what I enjoy in the game. Granted, they may not enjoy those things, but sheesh. To me, what's the point if you don't enjoy and experience at least HALF of the content the game has to offer?!

Interesting that you brought up the switch off of experience idea. Player Vs. Developer had a post recently about EQ2 having options to turn off experience gain and reasons this might be in place. Certainly an interesting idea when thinking of what it could do if it was in WoW!

A friend just last night was saying he couldn't understand why I would prefer chasing achievements to grinding/questing in Northrend.

The thing is it's not about chasing the achievements, rather about valuing the incomplete content equally. As a bonus there is the odd achievement thrown in. Which is why it would be nice if the content could scale with the player, so you could return for some value.

Isheepthings had a great post yesterday on this enjoyment of the old content.

Great post. I'm one of the lore hounds that actually reads the quest storylines. I keep getting pst'd in Grizzly Hills. "Why are you here? You're 80." I try to explain that I'm doing all the quests. Last night I finally got Fo' Grizzle my Shizzle, Dizzle before I hearthed back to the Hizzle.
But I wanted to comment on one of your thoughts: "Maybe if there was an option you could turn on to prevent yourself levelling before clearing all zones in your range… hehehehe, you are going to select that option right?"
A friend plays Vanguard. I tried the trial to see what it was like. Early on you learn a buff that will "Reduce experience gained by 100%" I asked why anyone would want that and he said it was so players could stay in the lower zones for longer and experience all of the game. The poor child even looked sincere when he said it.
