edit: Well, it would appear that there is value in prewritting posts, then continually bumping them for other posts. Everytime I do this, before the scheduled date a Blue Post will come out stating that they are addressing the issue. So I guess a lot of this will appear like old news, but I assure you it wasn’t when I wrote it. Now to go off and write some posts about Gnome racial engineering use… which I will schedule and then keep bumping.
So we have our backpacks, keyrings, achievements, pet storage, stables for our mounts, bank and guild vaults.
But as always, this little green haired gnome is not satisfied.
No, I want more!
I want to be able to remember and access all those “maybe one day” things, without them taking up prime real estate in my bank or backpack.
Kill list
Remember when you killed FredFirestorm, that level 70 that ganked you all through your 30′s in STV?
No me neither. But I want to, and I also want to know the score: me 1/ him 326.
Let me revel in my kills.
Death list
Similar to above, but think of it as a hit list.
Who have I died to and how often?
As an added bonus, include a bounty function.
Bounties
FredFirestorm needs to die, and for whatever reason, I would rather pay someone else to fulfill the contract for me.
Make the contract viewable in a guild interface, and sellable on trade chat, or even the Auction House.
Imagine the swarms of people invading Undercity to pick up a 1,000g reward for the death of a serial corpse camping ganker.
Trophy room
Somewhere to put those redundant items, the Mallets of Zulfurak, Nightbane’s Urn etc. I may never want to use them again, but I want to be able to go back and reminisce without it taking up bag space.
Seasonal storage
Unless you live in the tropics or at one of the poles, you already do this.
Summer approaches, you pull out the boxes from under your bed (or back shed) and happily check your Hawaiian shirts for moth bites and fit, while carefully packing away your parkas, snowshoes and beanies. When Winter approaches you reverse this process.
I love my seasonal garb. I love dressing up as a Christmas Gnome. I love having extra bag space more. In fact it isn’t even so much the bag space as finding the costumes amongst all the other gear.
But realistically, as much as I love the special gear, it doesn’t need to be in my closet, under the bed will do fine.
This seasons new look
Diverging from my carefully planned essay just for one moment. Why is is Winter’s fashion the same as last year’s. Why isn’t Frost the New Black for the mid-Summer festival?
Piggy bank
Not the Goblin piggy bank I showed you the other day, I’m talking about your own personal “rainy day” or goal saving bank.
The ability to put gold into either your bum bag for potential immediate spending, or the “term deposit account”, which you actually need to go to the bank and partially fill in forms to take it out.
Saving for a new mount, but that novelty pattern on the AH looks so sweet?
Well, now you need to think just a moment more before extracting the gold from your piggy bank.
Dart board
Did I mention kills and deaths before? How about a dart board, where you can stick the portrait of your least favorite character. Why play stupid gem games while flying, when you can throw darts at the one you love to hate.
Shoe closet
Actually I don’t have many shoes. But you know those overflowing cupboards with the “maybe one day” shoes.
We need one, just maybe a little more flexible.
Bag closet
I love bags. In real life, as well as online. No, not fashionable bags, I like anything that I can use to put something else in it. Don’t know why and it drives my wife bonkers.
In game I have collected some pretty snazzy and fundamentally useless bags. Coin pouches and pumpkin bags, leather bags and a variety of different colored linen sacks (why can’t we have different colored bags these days?)
The problem is that there comes a time where 1, 4, 6, 18 slots is redundant. So if they aren’t soulbound you could pass them off to your alts, or some needy begged.
Thing is I like these bags, so they are taking up space in my bank. I don’t want to throw them.
Maybe I could use them to store my seasonal clothes…
Tabard Rack
One one hand you give us a quest (achievement) to collect the Tabards, but on the other you give us no space to store them… I need a clothes rack, or maybe a squire to follow around after me.
Seems other people feel like me, as there is a blue post in response to this very request.
Weapon rack
Remember your first awesome blue weapon, or are you drooling over your most recent acquisition?
Don’t you just wish you could look back at all the cool weapons you have owned over the years.
Like I say, I am not so much fussed about extra storage space, it’s just that something don’t really justify being I’m your backpack or bank. Give me somewhere else to store this novelty junk, so I can appreciate it until Blizz turns the servers off.
Com’on Blizzard, you know you want to.
Ohhhh, BTW, if you are a Blizzard employee, how about leaving a note. It can be anonymous, I am just interested to know If I am just preaching to the converted as well as whether you folk feel the need to read obscure WoW blogs.
Ohhh, again with the Ohhhh… Slightly off topic (but only slightly) Anea from Holy Discipline brought the series of player housing posts by Kagrra from The Druid Team to my attention. Some of the best thought out aesthetic concepts for Player housing I have seen… actually the best. Nice one!

Gnomer and Out!

Hey there, thanks for the link
Kagrra really does have some excellent ideas, doesn’t she? Blizz needs to take a few notes!
Some fabulous ideas!
About the kill list thing, I remember having an addon when I was on a PvP server called GankList or somesuch. If I was killed by another player, it would pop up asking if I wanted to add them and it was suppose to sync up with other guildies that had it. I have no clue if it’s still used and/or updated anymore. But a good start since Blizz does seem to take a look at what addons people make use of.
I play Alliance…
I know an Alliance toon I’d love to get on a hitlist…
Think of the harrassment…
/grins evily
Haven’t checked to see if it’s been updated since a couple of patches ago (I had to stop using it because it (somehow) stopped me changing out of the Snowman disguise until hit or having the pvp trinket equipped to use after that patch), but Opium gives both friendly and kos functions, so you can mark both your hated your same faction “alli’s” or those sweet exceptions to the rule on the other side of the line in the sand.
Tailors make bags, and engineers make… to add to your profession calls and storage space interests, I would like to see devilishly ingenious chests and storage trunks/ (craftable by engineers, of course!) that could hold 3, 6, 9, 12 etc things in them… like the chests we fish up or find, but addable to and from. There should also be similarly upgradeable charm bracelets for jewel-crafters to make, and weapons racks from blacksmiths, and stuff made by crafting prof’s should always, ALWAYS be better than loot of the same level ><
And finally (for today), a Tabard tab of the same ilk as the pet one! I don’t generally wear tabards as they’re too much hassle when playing dress-up (although that too could be fixed by defaulting to nekkidness (oh , or undies if Blizz want to be boring) when entering the dress-up function), but I would love to collect the tabards just to have a wardrobe full of them to look at, flags of our nations style.
Thankyou very much for the opportunity to spout!
Edit on that jc item if it wasn’t so clear… charm bracelet for trinkets… I really never want to have to toss all those really funny trinkets like the Brewfest Maiden, that pipe from the same boss under the mountain, and the AD pally that bubbles up and rides off after his/her minute with you! And all those engineering trinkets!
Ummm, guess I hadn’t really finished…
A coin pouch that leatherworkers could make (or another tab) that could fit in all the coins fished from the Dalaran fountain… for when you need that quotable quote at your fingertips, we have the wit and (sometimes) wisdom of the ages in there somewhere!
