Aurdon dislikes the screaming dragon on the login screen, as he spends too much time listening to it roar while he is in the queue with nothing else to do.
I, on the other hand am developing a dislike for it due to my son’s fascination with the dragon. Guess that’s what traveling will do for you, we must have seen too many dragons in Singapore.
I start WoW, then sit at the screen tapping my fingers while my son alternately yells in joy at the dragons appearance or chants at the top of his lungs for the return of the dragon.
So I propose a solution to both Aurdon’s and my dilemma. Make a game out of the login/queue screen which involves you utilizing the dragon.
Maybe some sort of obstacle course you need to fly the dragon through, or some sort of bombing run. Maybe as you fail in your task the bones drop from the dragon leaving you with a puzzle where you need to rebuild the dragon.
On the topic of my son’s new found fascination with WoW, Mammoths. You know there are elephants in India… everywhere. Now we have Mammoths in WoW.
Luckily for me, he only saw the mammoth in Ironforge. Sure I had to chase the poor guy around IF for 20 minutes (I think he got a bit freaked out, but my son was preventing access to the keyboard for me to message him and explain my son’s interest).
At least he was tucked away in bed before I hit the Borean Tundra. I would never have gotten him to bed, so many Mammoths, so little time.
Baby elephants Daddy!
Mummy elephants Daddy!
Daddy, why are the big elephants stomping on you?
Stomping on me… This raises another issue. I wrote a while back about how he was interested in any Gnome, as long as it wasn’t a WoW Gnome. Well this has changed.
Now I find myself running through battlegrounds with him demanding that I stop so he can see him (Where has the Nome gone Daddy?). The problem here tends to be that by the time I have stopped, zoomed in and panned the camera he is looking at either a Gnome corpse or a Gnome Ghost, which of course is followed up with:
Where has the Nome gone Daddy?
So now I just have to find him something to entertain him, so I can move on from the login screen/Borean Tundra/graveyard.
Gnomer and Out!
