Why can’t we all just get along?
A couple of mates were discussing whether Blizz would every allow Horde and Alliance to group together.
Me being all powerful and knowledgeable stated for a fact it would never happen.
My mate pointed out that according to Warcraft RTS lore, Horde and Alliance have banded together.
So what do you think, will Horde and Alliance stand side by side at some pint in the future?
Gnomer and Out!

I think it would be an interesting idea for maybe certain instances or situations, however (like the old mind control, was it?) it would possibly become a room for cross faction chatting/trading.
From a personal standpoint, I think that it would be plausible – lore says we’ve done it before, why not now? I would participate in a cross-faction group.
I would worry about people abusing the ability from a griefing standpoint, however. There is always one (group) that will ruin the other’s fun.

I’m of two minds regarding this.
As a roleplayer, I love the idea of cross-faction interaction, whether it’s a roleplaying event with everyone able to attend or a fight that pairs Horde versus the Alliance. It would also help those people who either roleplay cross-faction (typically through forums) or maintain cross-faction guilds (I was once a member of a roleplaying guild that had members in both the Alliance and Horde).
On the other hand, allowing this would further remove the “war” from World of Warcraft. As it stands, combat between both factions is minimal on non-PvP server and typically degenerates into being blue flagged on a regular basis. With this added dimension of interaction between Horde and Alliance, it may entirely remove PvP from occurring outside of the Battlegrounds or Arena. I mean, what, are we supposed to play World of Cuddlecraft?
Keep in mind that those instances where Horde and Alliance have banded together were singular events that needed it to occur and we already see evidence of this within the game when we look at the efforts of the Argent Dawn against the Scourge or Cenarion Circle against the Silithid and Qiraji.
Like Hooplah, I think that I’d rather see the grouping limited to very specific situations.
Yeah, I think this would need to be limited to some “1 off” raid instance… similar to Dunholde keep where we could all communicate within, but not outside.
Although I guess we would need to form the raid group first.
Enjoy folks!
quoting Cynra (#6):
“…On the other hand, allowing this would further remove the “war” from World of Warcraft.”
but, if it’s happened in the lore, i don’t see how it would remove anything — it’s just that the enemies have changed. “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” — we would just be teaming up to take on arthas, or whoever. still war, just not war between horde & alliance.
