Another blogger mentioned one of the bonuses of the new achievement system is you clearly get to see what of the old content you missed.
Which zones have you completely cleared of quests, completely discovered? How many recipes do you know, or more importantly, not know?
I discovered some interesting stuff regarding zones.
As I expected, some zones were completely explored, others not at all (primarily Horde).
But then there are the surprises.

Duskwood – only one reason to go there, the flightpath for Kara.
Time to start exploring!
The thing that is a bit disappointing, is not knowing exactly what has been missed, or at the very least what exactly has been completed.
I know, I know, this seems a little contradictory, but here’s the specific issue.
I know 203 tailoring patterns – so what don’t I know?
Or as my friend mentioned the other night, he is missing 6 quests from the Ironforge area – which ones? Are they class quests he isn’t entitled to?
If he at least knew what quests he had completed, he could then research what he missed. I know there are mods out there that will track your quest completion, but they require that you install them, and maintain them from the moment the Toon is created, otherwise they have no access to quest history.
I think the time has come for Blizz to:
- List the achievements on WoW Armory (I want to know off line what I have/want to achieve)
- List recipes known and quests complete (and preferably those left to complete, though I understand Blizz may not want to dispel the mystery).
Goals, I want clear goals!
For that I need clear and complete online and offline information.
Gnomer and Out!

I do like the explorations achievments but like i have said in my blogs i will wait till either 80 or and event is on till i do them.
What strikes me as odd is when I go into a zone that I’ve already been given credit for exploring (like Hellfire Peninsula) only to get the yellow text in some random area that says “Discovered Place X” How could I have “discovered” it if I already saw it at least once? Weird.
Duskwood is the most obnoxious leveling zone in the entire game. As a gnome, I’m guessing you went from Loch Modan to Wetlands instead of Redridge and then south. I only ever had one alt with hope of reaching level 70, an adorable little fire mage girl gnome named Bonzy, but Duskwood broke her spirit.
Thing about those quest achievements is that they’re not neccesarily for completing every quest in the zone, I have a couple of alts that have the zone achievements completed with several quests still in their logs. Completing class quests in those zones will add one to your number of quests completed in that zone, but they arent included in the base total.
My brother in law has done (since the release of achievements) over 2000 quests. He needs only 4 more quests in Kalimdor to have that achievement complete. Problem he is having is that the ones he has are all Raid Quests for the AQ scepter Chain. It is really difficult to solo raid mobs even as a Shadow Priest. He is sure that there has to be a few quests that he has missed in so much that he is going to be walking all over Kalimdor on foot to see if he can find them. Now he is more hardcore than I am, but for the completionist in some of the players out there this is exactly what they are going to be doing.
