We ran Kara and ZA the other night, purely for the let’s do kara & ZA one more time (and while we are at it, grab the ZA Achievement).
Was I the king of DPS… hardly, things drop too fast for a Fireball to charge let alone land.
So I found myself scorching till the cows came home.
Bonus side-effect of this…
Hot Streak.
Now combine this with Combustion, and the Instant Pyroblasts were flying left right and centre.
It’s awesome to see the tiny graphic of Scorch hit the Mob, followed by a HUGE ball of fiery wrath, not lauching from your finger tips, but hitting the mob.

I actually specced my gnome mage fire on Monday night and mu first spell i used was a Pyroblast doing the dailies on the isle and got a 7.2k crit hahaha.
I will need to try the scorch tactic you mentioned.
