Hi fellow readers of gnomer’s blog.
Just a quick post to say hello.
Gnomer introduced me to his blog one night whilst playing together on our Friday night Kara run. Since then I’ve become an avid reader and occasional commenter.
Unlike gnomer, a researcher and theory crafter, I learn predominantly by doing. So I must apologize in advance. I won’t be keeping up gnomer’s regular posting rate and the posts I do do, won’t be nearly as well grounded in the numbers behind the game.
On a prior realm on my first toon, I remember gnomer stating excitedly as we grouped to level that he has got the numbers behind grinding….remember those bad old days? (now the levelling is so fast i quest to level exclusively, if a mob is a quest drop or just in my way it has to go, other than that I let live and run free )….. Gnomer had a spreadhseet that calculated XP per hour depending on the relative level of a mob to you. For those interested the sweet spot was 2-3 levels below. Then he quickly added that it is a game and we should just go do whats fun Whilst I appreciated the research behind it, the comment that struck accord with me was his follow up comment ‘but we could just go do whats fun’
So I will write the occasional post and I promise to try and keep it as relevant to you magi as I can.
I’m basically here to switch the lights on and off at odd intervals, clean out the mailbox, feed the fish and drink all his beer while gnomer takes a well earned break.
I have a couple of blog posts in the pipline….
- WSG Twink lock strategy guides.
- Should mages pay for battle resses?
- Is the term waterboy fair?
You guys own this blog more than I do. So anything at all you want to hear about please feel free to let me know. If I don’t have an answer I’m sure I can make one up.
I hope I can give you the occasional blog that is half as interesting as gnomer’s
