Interesting. I agree with Cynra, I much prefer the in-game gnomes to the garden variety.

And also interesting to learn so much about your son's name and how he exhibits the traits of his names. Certainly tells me that I need to think long and hard before naming any child I might have, lest they carry an overlooked trait of certain "pretty" sounding names!

Yes, well... walking talking cows that transform into walking talking trees is less scary?

Yeah Odin... he got lucky... He was going to be named Thor (this after scouring Christian, Arabic, Indian and Irish names for a suitable candidate).

Luckily a close friend did what we for some unknown reason hadn't done... uttered his full name (first + surname) out loud. He would have been crying from his 1st day in childcare until his funeral. On paper it was all fine... spoken (with an Australian drawl.. Thaw)... well you wouldn't do it to your worst enemy, definitely not to your 1st spawn.

On a side note...
Odin's German equivalent Wodan was (apparently) the basis of Wednesday... he was born on a Wednesday.

Odin god of Wisdom and War, apparently the one to bring runes to the Vikings... Well at 2yo he has a crazy understanding of language, speaks non-stop from 6am-10pm using language that puts 3 year olds to shame... not to mention that he grasps 3 languages. And he knows how to land a good punch.... little bugger.

His middle name (of Indian Origin) means rain or light shower.. He was born in Melbourne, the home of drizzle.

His surname is the same as mine, and a source of constant humiliation throughout my childhood.. Wasn't until I was 18 and at a pub that I realized that my name was a great topic of conversation (errr pickup line), so it didn't get changed when I could legally do it.

Exceedingly strange. Gnomes -- garden and otherwise -- scare me. Other than the old David the Gnome cartoons. And your child is named Odin? That's pretty cool!
