Inspired by Magenomics, I have been scratching my head for ideas on Mage improvements for WoLK, this is what I came up with.
A New Mage Spell: Stitch in Time.
Inspired by Aeonus from Black Morass
Rank 1
It has 2 ranks, the lower one allows only Mages to move about during the 4 seconds. No casting allowed. Still 4 seconds should be enough to move out of the flame wreath etc…
Nothing is interrupted, spell casts are just caught in time, so if you have 1 second of the 3 second cast left before someone does the time stop, then you still have 1 second left.
Mob/Boss attacks aren’t interrupted either, sure they are temporarily stopped, but the big swing is still coming. Of course the Mage may have run out of range by then.
Rank 2
The main difference here is that heals aren’t stopped. So if the big cleave/AoE is coming from a boss, never fear, your healers have 4 seconds to bubble the tank (lol) heal the party and run.
Gnomer and Out!

brilliant! i want it. nice mockup, too.
: )
Ooh, that would be fun!! I want it now too! Like you, I’ve been thinking about what a mage would want/not want in Wrath. I’ve spent a lot of time complaining about the Lock Blink and Hunter Invis, but haven’t really been able to come to any one thing that I would want to have… there’s just too much!
A neat video that I’d like to see is an AV of 40 mages chaincasting this spell. Imagine the sheer annoyance of the opposing side: their casting time is nearly 3 minutes long in total, and when it’s up, the mages are long gone and probably zerging the general…and wiping of course (ARGH PINK LOL)
@Kriz: lol that would be awesome… we would need some pretty neat dps tho, take the general down in less than 10 seconds, otherwise it will be groundhog day in running back from the dead
@Prelimar: Now that I have finally gotten around to using that wow item generator, it is too easy
@Mae: As that Hunter friend of ours says, Less QQ, more Pew Pew.. let’s console ourselves with self created fantasy
(Although I know how you feel.. and My Mage Sucks latest posts… well it just sucks)
