Real Mages don’t need mounts and other mount improvement ideas
I like mounts as an expression of my “individuality”. Some people collect pets (combat or otherwise), some people need the right clothing combinations. Me, I need the right mount.
I hope with WoLK, we can not just cut and colour our hair, but can make appropriate modifications to our mounts, racing stripes, spray paint, spots whatever takes your fancy.
When I got my 1st Mechanostrider, I wanted one that fit my image. From memory back then I had nice red clothes, and (still to this day) an almost full set of green hair. So the natural choice was a Red Mechanostrider.
When the time came to upgrade, I chose the shiny green model – because it matched my hair perfectly.
Then tragedy struck, I was level 70 and had the cash for the basic flying mount… but… there was no red or green ones (well they are all brown to me). What was a Gnome to do?
Yeah… white, or more precisely Snowy (Which was sort of OK, because my RL nickname is Snowy. So when my mates said “here comes Snowy”, I was happy). But tell me, why can’t I paint this blank canvas?
I held off for ages in buying my Epic Flying Mount. Because of the cost, well yeah, kinda, but more importantly, they are U.G.L.Y.
Then one day I happened across this beauty.
OK, now we are talking. Worth an extra 2 grand… Yeah! I would have given my next door neighbours dog and our landlord’s house for this little bewdie!
So I am happy right….?
Ohh no, here comes Whinging Gnome again…
See that pretty little bird next to my big bird? It has a problem. It suffers from atlitude sickness!
So when I fly up
He grabs a sick bag and hugs the ground… errrr Blizzard, that little feathery friend has wings, set him free to fly the skies with me!
Give us (Gnomes) a Racial Mount
Now, if you have read any of my blog previously, you will know that I am annoyed that us Gnomes can’t have engineering flying mounts. I mean we are born Engineers, we were tinkering in the womb!
Mage Mounts
Broom sticks – great, but just for special occasions?
Flying carpets, sure, let the average Gnome on the street unfurl their bath mat and go for a ride.
What I want to see (as alluded to by Tuna in comments about my Carpet post) is specific Mage transport methods. In fact I would almost forget Warlocks getting Blink if we could do something, I don’t know, kinda Magey…
How about we can just Port anywhere that a Hearthstone could take us?

At least just give us sensible clothing, a Mage quest to get it is acceptable:
Someone please warn Blizzard that us Mages are blinking our way down to Blizzard HQ about Warlocks stealing our Blink… and tell them they better have some goodie bags for Mage transport when we arrive!

Gnomer and Out!
Oh I’m in for that one. No mount at all. We could like swim in the air, like you do in the end if MgT. Would feel very appropriate.
I like it. More port locations & the ability to fly. Maybe mages could change into a “flight form” based on spec? Think Human Torch from the Fantastic Four (or something like that).
What can I say – thats a charming robot chicken I spy beside the Mechanostrider ^_^ lol
