Claytons post #2
A Claytons Post (The post you have when you aren’t having a post).
I have realised why I Hate Mondays…
Returning to work? No.
Leaving the family? No.
Hundreds of blog entries in my reader? Yes.
Not that I don’t like to read them, it’s just when… I feel like I am on a treadmill.. must grind through posts…
Anyway, finally hit the end of them, and found a few things that sparked my interest and thought I would share them.
This list is really missing most of the “independent” blogging community… not because I didn’t read them, but rather because they were my 1st priority, and now I can’t remember the ones I was going to comment on.
Note to self: Make notes to self!
OK, here we go….

Not of interest unless you are a Mage (particularly a Fire Mage) there is this post at WI about the future of Fire Mages.
That isn’t why I am point you there tho.. the reason I am pointing you there is because of the photo.
If you want to know what the man behind the Gnome looked like as a little boy, then this picture pretty much does it (especially since all the real photos are in Black & White, so you might as well enjoy the colour).
Also over at WI: New Player’s Guide: Class Psychology
This is what it says about Gnomes like Me.
You just want to do damage. Lots of it. As fast as you can do it:
Your destiny lies in DPS, so look at a Mage, Hunter, Warlock, or Rogue. However, like Anakin Skywalker, you’re going to need to learn to control your anger. Unleash too much damage, and you’ll end up with an upset monster attacking you, and an even more upset healer and tank trying to get things back in order. Most, if not all, of these classes will have a secondary job: crowd control (when more than one monster come on a pull, often you will want to freeze one of them in place). Arguably, Mages are the best at this with their sheep spell. Hunter traps have cool-downs and a decent chance of being resisted. Warlock’s banish only works on demons and elementals — and while they can fear, ,it’s often not a good idea to send a monster scurrying away, and Rogue’s sap only works on humanoids (plus you need to sneak up on it). As an aside, Warriors also can be specialized for DPS, but I’m not going too far down that road right now.
Ohh and nice that Mark Crump gave some link love to PTD http://parttimedruid.com/2008/07/01/the-psychology-of-class-choice-in-wow/ for the earlier post.
WI Podcasts: WoW Radio
As I have just discovered my new ability to download, or more to the point listen to Podcasts on the go, I am hunting for podcasts to listen to…
Does anyone listen to these?
Thoughts, comments?
The Archmage
OK I admit it, I am clearing out my Google Reader. and I have finally started working through the WI posts. Found these two, that are interviews with Lhivera, the famed Mage theorycrafter. If you missed them, then here are the links.
Admitting Mistakes
I am a big one for admitting mistakes – especially when they are someone else’s. I will be thinking on this one, but just so you have something to read in the meantime, check out Matticus’ and Omen of Clarity’s
Glyph of the Penguin
Euripedes first brought this to my attention, and it was raised again when I announced I had fished up a turtle on the AH.
What do I think? … bring on the 50 second Mage pets!
But give me more… I do want a Kangaroo, Bambi would be nice, someone suggested a Fur seal (for the Mace Rogues enjoyment).
Maybe just a Egg…. that is waiting to be cracked?
Enough for now…
Hope you all have a Lootful weekend!
Gnomer and Out!

This is brilliant! You and I seem to share the same taste for posts. So… if you do the grinding for me I’ll just pick the sweetest mana berries of it by reading the samples you offer with posts like this. Deal?
I absolutely agree
