OK, this is a list of some of the potential gear that you may either go grinding for, or pick up in your travels while instancing etc.
My recommendation is to not actively grind for the gear… sure you might get lucky, or you might spend many fruitless hours grinding the instances when you could just fork out 5 gold more than you really want to spend on the AH.
From a difference perspective: Instances for farm for gear.

The dragon has 3 spawning locations, 5-10% chance to spawn
He is right after Fanglord and right before the winding chasm. 60.2/49.7; 67.1/46.6; 85.0/60.3
Robe of the Moccasin 55% (BoP) – Lord Cobrahn <Fanglord>

How to get a Banshee Rod of the Sun
Dr. Whitherlimb (Ghostlands)
- Banshee Rod of the Sun (BoE) 34%
There are 4 Ziggurats in which he can spawn. The 2 northern ones around (34,48 ) and (40,49), and the 2 souther Ziggurats inside of Deatholme at (30,87) and (35,87). He has a 2 hour spawn time.
When he spawns, he will spawn in 2 adjacent Zigguarats at the same time. Either the 2 northern ones, or the 2 southern ones. I have one time seen him spawn in all 4 Ziggurats at once.
Getting to Ghostlands as Alliance
Fly to Lights Hope Chapel.
Follow the road north to fork (57,36). Go straight north. If you see on your map that the road is curving to the west a bit, your on the right track. There should be a sign that is labeled Ghostlands at the fork. Take its word for it and head in that direction. When you reach the portal (59,12), take a breather and relax.
Past the portal, follow the road North. He is left of 2nd fork in road (the one that goes left/West)
Gnomer and Out!

a nice continuation of the guide, definitely applicable to twinking mages or possibly priests (blessed seer is so awesome). for mages, i personally like the emberstone staff for the 19 bracket. the stats are nice and balanced, and relatively easier to farm if you’re rolling alliance-side.

I did forget to mention the whole enchanted white item trick, best described here:
Gun Loving Dwarf Chick
Leveling With Style

For a long time I wondered what value there was in “white” items… I mean they are just mis-coloured “grey” items right? Wrong.

I am reading this guide over before I link it and I noticed a little error. No biggie, but Dawnblade can not be obtained alliance side. It’s a horde quest reward.
Also, a viable and popular leg item for twink locks is the “of healing pants”. They give +9 spell damage.
You see them on my armory: Drayner
Thanks for the guide, I will be linking it shortly.
@Drayner: thanks for taking the time for your comment.
Good point about Dawnblade, I will leave it in there for those Hordies that are Twinking.
I haven’t yet had the chance to go back through after the pre-WoLK changes. I expect there is a bit of +healing gear that was changed to +spellpower as well as enchants that are now worthwhile.
Just need some spare time to hunt through WoWhead to find alternative… one day…
Thanks for the link too!
If anyone else has some hints, please don’t be shy… it will make it easier on the next twinking to stumble by…
OK, I have made some updates to the above gear list to reflect changes in Spell Damage/Healing to the new Spell Power stat.
I also thought I would rope in a couple of the comments from the original WoWInsider article.
Mainly because I don’t really have the time to update the guide to this extent right now, and they provide some valuable insight into Twinking options (well maybe apart from the whole “outdated” bit…).

The alliance warlock twink guide is a bit *too* outdated and not very helpful or applicable. That buildis the all-too typical ‘stam-build’ for lvl. 19 lock twinks. The thing is, the pure damage build leaves you with 199-206 bonus shadowpower unbuffed while having 1.3k hp unbuffed (popping sacrifice tosses in another 300 hp per soul shard). From ~all~ of my experiences, my pure damage build is a lot better at pvp than the stam build.
When your Curse of Agony and Corruption together total up to 750 damage, dots just destroy the health of other toons (including the typical stam build). I think that the damage build is leagues better than the stam build… I think its great when you can run at the main group in a BG, hit all 10 players with CoA and Corruption… and less than half of them make it out alive.

Yeah that warlock twink list is severely outdated. Many of the of healing items don’t have correct numbers for damage now that healing and damage have been merged. The heirloom boa shoulders are the best in slot by far now as is the boa heirloom spell damage trinket. You can also currently put the honor bought stam/resilience enchant on the boa item and trade it, though for those who were lucky enough to get the power of the scourge enchant out of old naxxramas, you have the best option for the boa shoulders if you saved it. You get far more out of a warlock twink with very high shadow damage than you will out of stacking pure stamina. You do need enough stam to survive really nasty rogues that seem to target you over and over and you can easily still be over 2k with 160 shadow damage when it’s called for. My 19 warlock twink is twinkerbel on proudmoore and my 39 warlock twink is calyban on proudmoore. My main raiding warlock is ravenelle on the same server.

Actually Everglow Lantern Is not the best off hand it’s Furbolg Medicine Pouch That u can buy from the Timbermaw Hold faction it gives 10+ stamina and use heals 100 every second during 10 seconds that is 1k HP heal.
@GottaLoveTwinks: Yeah, but it is a bugger to get… which is why it is down the list a bit… but if you can get it… get it
