I still have my priest's T2 headpiece because:
1) It looks awesome even now.
2) Extreme emotional attachment. I spent three times the maximum amount of DKP (way back when we used DKP) ever spent in my guild for it. It also never dropped again (yay for token drops), so I was the priest with the cool and guild-unique hat until The Burning Crusade. I still occasionally wear it in the bank until one of my fellow healing priests standing beside me notices and tosses me a quick: "I hate you."

Nothing wrong with hoarding. Bank alts plus cheap 16 slot bags equal more room than you could possibly need.

Easier said than done... but....

Sell -ALL- your enchanting mats. If you need mats you buy them from AH at (hopefully) a good price. If you sell them for a good price then there is no reason to have them taking up shelf space. Carrying stock costs money ;)

Quest items: find out which ones are for important quests which are part of a chain. Throw all the others out. You can always get the quest again and continue if you find that you want to do that quest... for example: the trials of the naaru. You want to do these quests in order to get "champion of the naaru" after your name, so dont throw out any quest items for these quests.

Acutal quests - spend some time trying to finish quests and not pick up any new quests. you will probably find you make some money and along the way you will see which quests aren't worth keeping. Dailys aren't important of course and can be safely ditched straight away. I try to do them on the day I get them otherwise drop them.

This doesn't apply to PvP and Dungeon/Heroic dailys if they are for a BG or an instance you are likely to run, enjoy, complete and / or win. Hang onto them as you will likely do the task required soon enough anyway, might as well get free gold and honor and rep for it :)

Maybe-one-day gear: no no no. Probably the hardest to get rid of, but least likely to get used. If you do change spec and want to try new gear, by that stage the chances are you will have something else which is just as good. At worst not having that piece of gear in the future will mean a very minor nerf under some specific circumstances. You wont likely miss it when it's gone.

Of course I do none of these things, and I have a full bank, bag, mule and mailbox. I just juggle rather than face reality and get rid of stuff. For example I have 20 primal nethers. Why? Because I just have them, and might need them one day.... you know, for an enchant or something....

20 of them.

see - easier said than done.

Yeah.. I must be strong... lol Guild banks just make it worse... you are so right. I have been given one for my bank alt... so happily storing enchanting mats in there for some imaginary rainy day.

I will pass on your regards... something tells me he wont be paying too much attention... his last words to me as he went to sleep were "happy birday to you tomorrow"

Can't believe the difference in awareness in 12 months.

I have this problem ... I really do. I have more stuff than I care think about what to do with. Oh wait, had. I had more stuff ....

I started doing one toon a week, starting with the bank toons. It go listed on the AH, or vendored, or just flat deleted.

Then I got to my raiding toons. It was easy to dump off mats and cloth and just stuff ... But my hunter T4 set? I had to come back to it. I am never going to wear it again, his T5 is much neater looking, but still ...

I won't even get started on our community guild bank in the alt guild I have created with my friends .. you think one person comes up with a lot of junk ... imagine 6 of us living out of the same bank.

Basically we have come to the conclusion that all of this stuff is going to truely be useless at expansion time, so the only sensible thing to do it to concert it into gold ... doesn't make it any easier tho.

Tell you son Happy 2nd Birthday from those of us in the eletronic world btw. :o)

I'm usually pretty good about what I hoard and what I don't. My pitfall currently seems to be roleplaying outfits for a number of my more popular girls. A girl can't wear the same thing day after day, can she?

And my recent excursions into the Core leave me able to say that the Fire Resist isn't required in post-60. I've been furiously working towards finally acquiring a Benediction before Wrath of the Lich King (four priests to 60 or beyond and not a single one!) so I've been in there with some regularity lately. And successfully healing a heroic in almost full Tier 1 makes me giggle.

Yeah.. I think I should liquidate... certainly going on a DE rampage.

The quest log + heaps more, is from
http://www.rpgoutfitter.com/

You need the character profiler addon, available here:
http://www.rpgoutfitter.com/addons/CharacterProfiler.cfm

and you need to create and account at that site and upload each time you want the data updated.

Features include:
Character profile (similar to character sheet)
Inventory - all of it, bank, bags and mail - sortable.
Equipment - weapons and armour by slot - detailed
Bank - Shows bank bags and contents
Bags - Shows bags and contents
Mail - what, from who and when it expires
Quest log - you have already seen that
Recipes - all known receipes, by profession, filterable.

In addition, let's say you want to make a netherweave bag, when you drill down to the recipe, it will show you which of your toons have the mats required.
