Nice article, a pleasure to read. I have a customised Arcane/fire spec that I use, and love – I tried out all fire yesterday but just couldnt match the DPS, low aggro and sustained mana even remotely so switched back – but its nice to see some tips and tricks

Invisibility is great fun, and it IS useful! low aggro arcane may give you – but perfect nothing is.

@lar: better get used to invisibility, they’re lowering the fade time to 3 seconds instead of 5, making it a much more reliable way to sneak out of combat, as well as grief your fellow teammates.

@gnomeageddon: nyah nyah! little fire gnome can’t kite!!!! =P

but seriously, very charming piece. one of these days, i oughtta get a good version of fraps and make a kiting/aoe tutorial. (“in frost we trust” is the standard, but it’s a bit long).

Oh, you know… I never ever use invisible for real anymore. Not since I realized arcane is the way to go unless you’re suicidal, then fire is to prefer.

So I’m glad you pointed a reason for it to keep it on my action bar at all. This spell is obviously intended to use to make pranks and jokes to your parties. I never knew until now.

Now Now Larisa, you were my inspiration to blog in the 1st place… Anyone who can write a blog, and “x” number of posts down the track, rewrite it all in English deserves the /bow.

Actually krizzlybear’s post had me a bit panicked. Mine was already written and scheduled, then I read that….

That’s when it occurred to me that I am probably the only Mage that AoE’s with a tank that can’t hold the mobs… I must admit we have a Tankadin in training at the moment, so things have been much eaiser lately.. but it was always a nightmare…

Druid standing with healers sets of AoE 0.5 second before mine… Druid goes down, healers go down… I go down, everyone goes down… And to think we would wait for the pull so they could AoE…

Yep, can’t kite.. not ashamed of it… though I sometimes wish I could… mainly cause I can’t run fast enough.

Yeah.. you wont want to cry wolf with the invis trick too often…. otherwise you will find yourself high and dry when a pat comes in on your for real…

One thing I appreciated especially was that you admitted your unability to kite. I’m just the same! Been a fire mage to long I guess. Isn’t it just embarassing? Please, please Zupa, learn us the trick, will you?

That last trick, running invisible for fun, was new to me. I’ve obviously got quite a few other things yet to learn before I become a Big and Wise Mage and not just a little noob with pink pigtails.
