So I spent the 1st part of my Friday night running arround grabbing my Merciless shoulders, Gladiator’s gloves and PvP trinket.
It should have been a quick process, but I swear every vendor was offering the gear for the wrong reasons… Arena points, Token hand ins, BG tokens…
No matter which item I wanted, I went to the wrong vendor. I finally got my shoulders, gloves and trinket, but for the life of me, I couldn’t find the Spellblade vendor.
I did finally on Saturday. 5 minutes on WoW Armory, 5 minutes in game, and I was the proud owner of a (short) new mainhand. I think I prefer the look of a sword being dragged through the earth.. gives the impression that I am mightily powerful.. powerful enough to plough the earth with a sword.. but ultimately I would prefer to plough through mobs, even if that is with a dagger – I’m not a farmer you know.. not even in the WoW sense.
The only dilemna I now face, is what I use my T4 token (Leggings of the Fallen Hero, that I grabbed off Gruul) for T4 pants, or Gladiator pants. No one else in the raid wanted them, so I thought rather than getting 4g for them, I would turn them into something useful.
Let’s compare them.
Currently equipped: Spellstrike pants.
Compared to SpellStrike Pants
Gladiators: +42 Stam, -22 Spell Hit, +2 Spell Crit, -46 Spell Damage, +75 Resilience
(2) Set: +35 Resilience Rating.
Aldor: +19 Stam, +2 Spell Hit, -26 Spell Crit, -24 Spell Damage
(2) Set: Gives you a 100% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting Fireball or Frostbolt.
Gladiators vs. Aldor.
Gladiator has: +23 Stam, -24 Spell Hit, +28 Spell Crit, -18 Spell Damage, +75 Resilience
Now I guess my primary purpose for having the pants is to increase my survivability.. after all for damage = spellstrike. I will probably only use them for HKM (on the on occasion that I need to mage-tank), PvP, or occasionally when I want a stamina/survivability boost.
So I am leaning towards the Gladiator’s Silk Trousers.
What do you think?

In this case, I’d suggest getting the T4 pants; you can get the Glad trousers for BG marks so you might wanna look into just rocking through WSG enough to accumulate the honor and marks required.
Yeah I was thinking about that… but I sort of figure I can PvP for the Merciless Gladiator’s Chest instead, for the same honor.. then I would have 2 pieces of each the gladiator’s and the merciless gladiators… I think the 2set bonus stacks “seperately” if you know what I mean.
But, I am still thinking on it.. thanks for your thoughts!
Unfortunately the set bonus on Gladiator’s gear doesn’t work that way. Any type of Gladiator’s gear contributes to the same set bonuses, regardless of its level (merciless, vengeful, brutal or regular)
You can, however, get 2 of the +35 resilience bonuses by using 2 of the blue PvP reputation set items, along with 2 gladiator’s…
The problem there is you have to gimp yourself a bit by wearing blues, but it’s a good way to bump your res up in some situations, like my mage at the moment! have a look, zupa on frostmourne.
