It was looking like it was going to be a clean kill, when suddenly one of the rogues over-aggroed on 2%. Vael turns, breathes all over the raid, swipes and cleaves. All of the healers drop dead except one Pally who somehow survives. There are maybe three dps, the pally and the MT still alive. Vael turns back to the tank and practically one-shots him. Then he starts one-shotting the surviving dps, except now he’s at 1%.

The Pally starts spamming heals on the dps but he’s wasting his time, quick as a flash he whips out his 2h Mace and starts whaling into Vael. Within 5 seconds he’s the only one left alive, TS is drowned out by the other 39 raiders all screaming “GOOOO XOBRA! KILL HIM!” at the same time.

Yep, he killed him. To this day we have no idea how he lived.

My own “oh shit oh shit” moment was on High King Maulgar, but it wasn’t exactly a last stand moment. I was mage-tanking Krosh, we set up the pull, I opened up with a Pyroblast. Then something goes horribly wrong. For some reason, I don’t know if Maulgar dodged the tank’s initial Sunder or what, but High King Maulgar is running straight at me as I’m spellstealing Krosh’s Fireshield. He reaches me, swings… I hold my breath…

I dodge.
